Biltong is always learn and healthy. 50% protein is normal. Bullshit marketing.

    • Yep, all biltong should be close to 50% protein and most of them have gluten and msg. I believe this product is just claiming to be a clean package product.

    • -1

No its not alway lean and healthy , I have seen people complaining of orders from previous bargains of wet n fatty going bad etc etc,

We are not using "Bullshit Marketing" we simply stating we have developed a clean no MSG/Gluten no nasties to what is usually found. Im not sure whats wrong with that.

Lets knock Family businesses trying to make something

My comment was about the protein, nothing more. When making such statements, you need to explain or let it be. "Your story" is a three sentences summary, nothing more. Please take it as thoughtful advice or continue with your way. Feedback should be considered a helpful kind of criticism.

I believe your product is really good; otherwise, you would not fight for it, but the statements on your website are not. You need to bring this passion to your brand. When you join such a saturated market, you must research, create an outstanding value proposition and convince people why your product is better. Be creative.

Thank you , that makes a lot of sense . We will look into this valuable feedback and take some action on this.

          Again thank you

      • Why would biltong contain gluten? It is like saying water is vegan. The statement is true but comical.

They claim low sugars, low carbs, reduced sodium

I've never seen a high sugar or high carb biltong.
It also seems to have more sodium than a couple of other options I found at Woolies.

    • -1

Really ?? Highly doubt that we not claiming low salt we claiming reduced sodium. Compared to "Woolies" our quality is much better than that .

  • It's the guys apparently: https://www.4hunters.com.au/

    • 100 % my wife has created a seperate brand as she is heavily involved in healthy eating and fitness . And has been working on this brand for sometime.

      No secret

      • Why don't you combine your efforts when both are interested in healthy eating in fitness?

      • Hey man, just a bit of free advice from a fake internet profile. If she's been working on this brand for some time, don't burn all that work by being confrontational online. It's like Bambi's mum used to say before she was shot, spiced and dried, if you can't say something nice about someone then don't say anything publicly where customers will react by not buying your product.

  • Ordered. Pity there is no chilli.

    • The pepper is really good , we will look at that in the future . But with our launch we thought keep it simple .

      • Can you make my order all pepper please?

        • Easy

  • everyone negging for the marketing but for $75/kg its not bad, very slightly cheaper than local legends full price

    • Thank you

      With free shipping

    • People are not negging it for its price but its marketing claims.

      • Hi again!! I don't understand how this is "marketing claims" when we have all the testing to show our "claims" are true. We adhere very strictly to any and all packaging regulations, and and false claims are not allowed.

        • I didn't mean you are claiming things that are not true but rather you are claiming things that are true for most of biltong products.

          • @Mistredo: Absolutely! But we can claim it, because as you said above, it's true! Take it from my point of view, its like stating a new water company can't claim to help with hydration or put a 5 star health rating on its bottle, because its true for all other water brands! So we cant claim anything about our product, because everyone has extensive knowledge about biltong? Its a bit comical and I hope this analogy made you smile!

      • It's ozbargain not Ozmarketing why so sad flop

  • Does it mean your other brand 4hunters.com.au contain nasties?

    • Hey there, no, 4 Hunters has a wide variety of products, we are very well established, we have created a different flavour profile for Protein Hunters, using different ingredients. Thank you for asking!

Hey Guys, it's Michelle Here, Peters wife. Thank you all for your advice and input into a product that i have worked very hard on creating! I understand that when new things come onto the market, its very easy to be negative or even condescending without ever having tried it. I want to assure you, that I will take on board all the good, bad and ugly comments posted on here, because if we don't listen to others opinions, we cannot continue to better ourselves or our products. Yes, a lot are commenting on here that biltong is well known for being low in sugar, carbs etc. But there are people who dont know about this product, so I will continue to market it in this way. Also, the product does contain significantly lower sodium levels than some other brands (not all), as well as no preservatives or any MSG. It's also gluten free to boot! I see there is a lot of comparison with other products, but I am not trying to sell them, I'm trying to sell my product, and share the good things about it! It's already doing very well within the fitness world, but i want to market it as an everyday, healthy snack FOR EVERYONE. @Mistredo no, our other brand is very well established with a big following, is it too much to ask that we try to expand our market?
Thank you to everyone for the good commentary, for all the orders, and for the feedback!

    • Hi Michelle, to expand on the free advice I offered earlier, being confrontational or as in above, passive aggressive, with potential customers in online commentary will do your business absolutely no favours at all. It's one thing to be able to make a great product but it's a whole other thing to be able to market it effectively. I really do wish you the best of luck but you're going to need some outside advice for how to run your marketing, especially your social media.

      • Hi, thank you for this. I truly didn't think I was being confrontational at all, I was coming on here to just explain a bit more, as we were really getting the raw end of the deal with some truly ignorant remarks. I appreciate your feedback, everything in business is a real learning curve! Taking this all on board! Thank you for the free advice!

        • Don't listen to those bored 🥱 C**ts thanks for the deal

  • I thought the marketing was fine. would it happen to be halal?
