Needed: Tosca Luggage Review

Hi there,

I’m in the market for a new checked suitcase and came across the brand Tosca. I couldn’t really find any reviews online, has anyone purchased this brand of suitcase before? If so have you had any issues or overall a good purchase?

In particular i’m looking at the Tosca Comet.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Tosca have been around for eons…They had a great name in the 80s…

but IMWO from personal experience doesnt matter how good your check in luggage is they will still find a way to destroy it first time out.

As mum found out waiting at carousel for the luggage, and then a shattered suitcase was followed by bras' and undies, and dresses on the carousel .. it was her stuff.

  • I have a tosca suitcase

scored it during hard rubbish 6 years ago. it was virtually brand new but had a bent clasp so wouldn't lock. 2 seconds with some pliers and that was fixed.

It's fine. wheels are good. handle is a good length (I'm tall).

it's made of a sturdy polycarbonate which has survived mutliple overseas + domestic trips

one clasp has been a bit funny recently. I have to slide it in to a lock position otherwise it won't stay closed. no drama otherwise

    • Great thanks for sharing your experience!

  • Consider how and where you intend to travel. I'd suggest large cases are OK for those who always travel business/first and never use public transport, inter-city trains or budget airlines. Otherwise get a medium, as lightweight as you can tolerate so you get to pack more stuff. A lightweight medium (many brand options) typically weighs 2.4kg compared with 3.9kg for your Tosca Comet

    • I’m not sure a medium case will be big enough for me. I’m traveling for 2 months before relocating overseas.

      • I always suggest caution with buying the large cases as it's easy to over-pack them to exceed the typical 20kg checked bag limit. Medium is better for inter-city high-speed rail, cruise ship cabins, compact hotel rooms, ride-share small-car boots, Paris metro gates and pretty much anywhere you need to use a luggage rack. But if you're not doing any of those things, sure - go large
