[eBay Plus] Baseus GaN5 Pro 65W Desktop Charger and Power Strip $67.99 (Was $89.99) Delivered @ Baseus eBay

PLUSMARA

Baseus eBay has dropped the price of this nifty charger from its regular $89.99 to $84.99. With the eBay Plus code, you get an additional 20% off that price, which is pretty decent.

It's a bit of a niche product in that it combines a desktop charger with a 3-outlet power strip and a retractable USB-C cord, so a neat product to have on your desk to save space.

They also have a couple of other items worthy of a look.

Desktop Metal Stand $12.79
Wireless Headphones $28.79

I saw this earlier. It doesn't even have AU 3 prong ports according to the description if im not mistaken…

    E: Description has been updated.

    • 2 x AU 3-prong ports + 1 x US 2-prong port

Keep in mind the AC power lead is hard-wired (not figure 8). Also, keep in mind once the retractable USB C cord fails you're left with a very chunky 2-port charger!

    Notwithstanding that, an interesting device.

Would definitely have preferred 100W or even the new 160W charger Baseus have recently released… 65W doesn't cut it if you're using one to charge a laptop.

I thought it was a soundbar with a subwoofer.

    • I thought it was an Xbox Series X

Damn this thing is pretty chunky compared to most of the 65w GaN chargers out there… and that retractable USB-C cord seems to be more of a gimmick (which adds to that whole bottom part, making it even larger)? In the end you're still most likely going to have another USB or USB-C cable running out from one of the top ports.

  • "Shock-proof touch control" - great selling point, is it because the previous Baseus products used to electrocute users?

  • Are the Aus sockets actually Chinese-style sockets, al la Xiaomi? If they are, the cables will end up going the other way, making it all look a bit messy.

FYI, I’m basing this on the fact that I have a lot of angled plugs on things. Straight plugs would work fine.

  • Does this support 110V? Going on a US Trip and this might come in handy.

  • Are these things even approved in Australia? Obviously, the sockets are Chinese markets, though one of the 3-prong sockets in the picture is cross-compatible (but upside down) with the Australian one.
