Great price for the LG 65" G2 OLED.
I couldn't find delivery/availability in Adelaide but there is availability in Sydney.
JB wouldn't price match a clearance item but did come down to $2950 which is still a good price (especially when considering TGG had no availability in SA). Debating whether to pull the trigger or wait and see whether JB goes to $2795 as well.

i have a 65 inch C2. it's incredible.
looks like the C3 won't be an upgrade worth considering.

What advantage G2 has over C2? The C2 was $2364 on ebay the other day.

Depends if you want to hang it on the wall. It comes with the wall mount and sits flush. Also is a little brighter and comes with a 5 year panel warranty. Whether that's worth $300 to you will vary on circumstances.
At that price I think so, the heatsink, extra brightness and flush wall mount are worth it.
Are OLED panels brighter than late gen (2012+) plasma panels?
Yes, substantially. The G2 here is about 4x brighter full screen white and 10x brighter peak highlights.
They're also a lot better at handling reflections.

For sure. But I don't have any issues watching my Panasonic ST60 plasma in my living room during the day, no direct sunlight on the screen though. At night, I would say it beats modern LEDs in black levels.
It may beat LED tv's but it wouldn't beat OLED blacks as they literally turn off the respective pixels so what you're seeing is actually black, not a pixel lit up black….
Dude I know about OLED. I did not say plasma beats OLED in black levels. It never did.
I'm in same boat with a Panny 50" plasma that just won't die. It probably chews at least twice the electricity of these oleds and is double the thickness, and triple the weight, and only 1080P, but I feel bad turfing it to the curve.
My Panny 50" plasma was made in Japan. It still amazes me how good the picture quality is when compared to an LCD TV.
Can't justify spending any money on a new TV for as long the Panny is alive. It was ahead of its time and it shows!
That would come in handy for winter heating as well.
I've got the ST60A myself in a 60" size. Almost jumped on the sony 55" a80j deal, but fear it will be a bit too small.
Is it worth waiting for G3, or best to pull the trigger on G2 at this price?
Sounds like the G3 has some significant improvements…. but you'll pay for it. Therefore I'm happy with getting a G2 at a good price.
Until we get hard reviews no one can say for certain but from all indications the MLA technology on the G3 will be a solid upgrade.
That said, you're gonna be waiting a long time for it to get down to this price or paying a lot more to get one.

I bought this tv because of Moses recommendation but the postman said I needed to go and pick it up from the shop even though the advertisement said delivery included and when I brought it home I found my wife cheating on me with the postman. This made me very sad and very angry and instead of talking to my wife, I said bad things to my boss out of anger and now I am unemployed. Because I am unemployed, I tried to sell some rap CDs on the street corner but the neighbourhood karen told me to shut up and get a job. Because the karen make me sad, when I went home, I kicked the tv and said bad things to it.
Now I have no wife, no job and no tv.

I wouldn’t buy this. Google ‘LG G2 coil whine’. Mine suffers terribly with it, but apparently all the sets of this model does to some extent, so I haven’t sent it back. Read a story of a guy who went through 3 different G2’s with all the same issue. I’m hoping to raise it with LG when the G3 comes out and see if I can get it swapped.
