On sale is this new tablet from Blackview that's different to the usual Chinese budget tablets, as it offers a large 11" screen, 256GB of storage, PC Mode for use with a keyboard/mouse, Sony/Samsung cameras and it's available in the colours Grey, Blue and Green. This is a good option for general use, media playback, gaming, emulation and ebooks etc.

Featuring Android 12 with Google Play, 11" 2000x1200 IPS display, 8GB RAM, 256GB UFS storage (microSD support up to 1TB), UNISOC T616 Octa-core CPU, 7680mAh battery with 18W USB-C PD fast charge, 4G LTE with dual SIM, 13MP Sony IMX258 rear camera, 8MP Samsung S5KH7 front camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and quad speakers.

Despite having Widevine L1 DRM, this tablet has not been whitelisted by Netflix so playback will be in SD instead of HD. Widevine L1 will still work for Disney+, Prime and YouTube. The other downside is that there's no 4G B28 support.

Each tablet comes with a case, stylus and screen protector.

Wow, looks like a beast of a tablet for the price. Kind of wish I needed one.

    • -8

Price is average I would say. It's usually around this price from what I've seen. They've inflated the rrp once again. So don't make an impulse buy if you're not in need of one now, you'll get this price or maybe better at a later date.

      • +7

Can't be usually around this price if it hasn't even been out for 24 hours yet.

        • -5

          I mean such tablets.

          • +6

@mrtee: Piss poor generalisation. This is quite different to the others.

  • @Clear Wasn't sure if this is the right place to ask but
Do you know if something more powerful will be dropping shortly?
A friend is after one but not sure if I should recommend this one

  • This Wouldn't this be better in every way? $188.75 delivered for the 12g/512g option, 120hz 2560x1600 screen, 10,000mah battery, 5G

    • +5

That's a fake tablet. There's no way any of those specs including the Snapdragon 870 is real in an unbranded tablet.

      • Reviews seem decent

        • Trust you to think it's real.

          • @Clear: Not sure why your taking this personally, just trying to understand how they'd use fake parts and get away with it.

            • +5

@mrtee: You're upvoting every comment that shits on this deal after I pointed out this isn't normal price as it's a new release.

Fake Android tablets aren't anything new and all over YouTube There's no brand, it's using a flagship CPU found in devices more than double the price, 12GB RAM and 512GB storage also found in flagships more than double, plus a really large battery.

All of these specs can be faked. Ever heard of a Goophone? How is it that a generic tablet can have the specs of $700+ phones for such a low price? Why aren't all other phones and tablets this low price?

On-top of all of that the store has 88% feedback. That's extremely low. You can't even post anything below 95% on Ozbargain since it's so hard to achieve a low score unless you've got a serious amount of bad reviews.

                    • @mrtee:

I've actually not voted +/- on any comment

Make up your mind. You had.

                          @mrtee: Don't be a flog mrT
Clear has a record of posting the best tablet deals.

And that 870 tablet you posted is 100% fake, they install a custom rom that fakes the specs, those 870 tablets are circa 2018 tablets

                          • @Jessie Ryder: Nothing against posting, he just got really mad very quickly.

                            • +3

@mrtee: The way I read it, he didn't seem mad, let alone really mad. Were you trying to make him mad, got some beef with clear?

                              • @donnsuil: Does it look like I do?

                                • @mrtee: Yes, it looks like you do.

Your first post is so wrong it's not funny

How about post your first deals instead of sh*t posting on clear.

                                  • -1

@Jessie Ryder: Well that's not intended at all. I was just curious about the product and price point. Then I learn that some advertisers may be using fake Snapdragon chips etc.
Since when did we become so intolerant on ozB.

                                    • @mrtee: You didn't do yourself any favors with your ill informed passive aggressive first post. Read it again and I'm sure you will see why everyone is downvoting you.

      • Interesting

      • +1

Another So you'd say all these are fake? Kinda tempted to roll the dice just for laughs. I don't trust any of the customer reviews on ali ex

        • +1

Feel free to check the video I linked above. $130ish USD wouldn't even cover the manufacturing cost with those parts.

More like it has 2GB RAM, fake storage (fake USBs remember those), older version of Android with a skin on-top. And very likely loaded with malware.

        • +3

I've bought similar tablets before. The specs in those cases were absolutely faked. Additionally, if you just add together the cost of the parts they're claiming, it's pretty obvious that this doesn't make sense unless they were "found" on the back of an unlocked truck. It would be a dice roll, and one with very bad odds in my experience.

I wouldn't purchase from Blackview due to them not standing and supporting their products. A number of years ago they were selling dash cams, I got one from them to do a review, it was a mediocre product which didn't sell well, so they abandon the dash cam market, gone quiet and not providing any support after that. Since then looks like they have gone into smartphone and tablet market, so I would be weary about them. I think they are like a lot of Chinese companies only interested in selling their products to you but not interested in supporting you aftersale.

    • +1

I can understand you may have had a poor experience but what you're saying isn't correct. They still sell dash cams, they're fairly well regarded. They offer local support. https://support.blackvue.com.au/hc/en-us/requests/new

      • +1

Sorry, my mistake about them selling dash cams, what I meant to say was Blackview used to sell action cam, like copy of GoPro. Here is a link from 2015:
        https://pevly.com/blackview-hero-1-review/

I know BlackVue sells car dash cams, they are a Korean company and produce expensive high quality cams.

        • That looks just like the Sjcam SJ4000 and all the other knock off variants. They're pretty bad now but were good 10+ years ago. You can pick them up for $10-15 USD off AliExpress.

    • +3

As mentioned by Dice it sounds like you're thinking of Blackvue. Blackview are known for their rugged phones traditionally. Separate companies.

  • I'm looking for an upgrade from the Blackview 13, although this seems to be the same CPU just overclocked. (T610 to T616)
Any thoughts on the speed difference?

    • +2

Not a big increase in speed. I'll do an Alldocube iPlay 50 Pro deal later as that MediaTek Helio G99 in that is better than the T618.

      • Looks like the iplay 50 is cheaper, is it a better tablet then this blackview 16 deal?

    • +2

94.2% feedback so I can't post as a deal sadly. This one with coupons 92ATWHANDH90 and AN9 for US$145.19

      • Store feedback is now 96.2%; posted!

        Beat you, @clear! 😄
(But can't get that 92ATWHANDH90 voucher to work)

        • +1

Alldocube Factory is what I linked above. They're a tad cheaper. Feel free to put that in the comments of your deal. It's just not allowed in the main deal.

          • @Clear: Aaaaand… you beat me again. You beat us all! 😞

            • +1

@wisdomtooth: Haha all good. I encourage others to share their own deals too.

  • Shopping for a friend, don't want to shop on AliExpress (would prefer some aus company that I can deal with if anything goes bad). Can someone recommend a tablet. Max $250 budget. Thank you.

    • Go second hand. I bought a Tab s4 a few years back for Netflix etc and its still going strong. Have seen no reason to upgrade. Or just get a Tab A if you want a new/er one.

  • Thanks. This looks really good - I went for Mint Green and added the keyboard and mouse option. Hope it arrives quickly!

  • Any specs on screen brightness?

  • Tried applying those coupons, but can't get that price. Anyone having a similar issue?

    • It's trying to add GST on top, invalidating the discount for me.
