HEYMIX 65W GAN Charger

Admittedly I have seen previous mixed reviews of this GAN charger.
My experiences for the last year have been pretty good with this exact charger.
Although on eBay has the same charger with a 1.5mt 100W usbc cable for $38.29

After reading that electrical tear down posted on here, I will never touch a Heymix item. Not worth risking burning down your home.

      Here’s the comment - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12996125/redir

The reversed polarity is also mentioned in some of the reviews of the power board. For example, click the multimeter picture - dated 12th of Jan.

Neg for the major issues with other products.

Price aside, brand has shit reviews so beware. Personally my Heymix have not yet exploded but maybe one day

The Heymix 65W GAN charger you linked has an acceptable Amazon rating of 4.3 stars, I would hardly call that "shit reviews".
In fact if you search "65W GAN charger" on Amazon the charger with the highest rating of 4.6 stars and 158 reviews is the Heymix GAN charger. The second highest reviews at 87 is also a Heymix 65W GAN charger with 4.5 stars. The Belkin 65W GAN charger was rated at a mere 3.9 stars which included complaints of "So hot you can only touch it for about a second. I've never experienced a wall charger get this hot. It just doesn't seem safe." Another reviewer wrote "Faulty, Used once then one plug stopped working." Then there's this Anker 65W GAN charger with only a 3.6 star rating and costs $75!!.
I eventually found an Anker 65W GAN charger with 4.4 stars but it costs $80 or twice as much as the Heymix charger yet has a lower star rating. Yet this Anker GAN charger has quite explosive reviews also " Blew up on first use" and "Faulty on arrival. Dangerous, sparks and smoke"

Ahh, the Heymix shill arrives. Thanks for the downvote.

The powerboard has an acceptable Amazon rating of 4.6 stars but also has known issues which are confirmed through reviews. Should I still buy one?

        • buT ThE REVIewS!

The "shill" The catchcry of a person who desperately tries to slander someone because they can't debate them.
Was anything I stated in the previous comment incorrect?

          • @PukeyLuke: I never said your comment was incorrect - I just asked about a well reviewed product with known issues(at least according to users).

Any comment looking at just review scores is dishonest. Two of the products you've linked have less than 10 reviews.

If you want some quotes about Heymix, here they are, straight from Ozbargain users - usual caveats( unverified, etc)

The problem with Heymix as a brand is that you don't know what you're getting. The powerboard seller doesn't appear to have taken any action on the faulty powerboard and are more than likely still being sold with bad wiring.

@ihfree: I've asked several people who have left bad Heymix reviews on OzBargain if they left a bad review on Amazon, surely they would have if they go to all this effort to complain about them here, yet not one person has indicated that they have done so. I know you've read my requests to the other OzBers. Unless it's a verified review it doesn't mean anything. And if it's a review on OzBargain that they definitely didn't leave on Amazon then that is very suspicious, but you just slurp up the Kool-Aid only hearing what you want to hear, but you don't ask why brands such as Anker and Belkin which you have repeatedly recommended to other users have verified reviews that are no better than Heymix and as I've shown above, with the 65W GAN chargers that Heymix in fact has the most solid feedback over the brands that you yourself recommends!!
As you are so invested in trying to bring down Heymix you should be asking each and every person that leaves a negative review on Ozbargain if they left a negative review on Amazon, it would add great validity to these OzB reviews that you repeatedly spruik, but I think you already know that. Yet you won't do it, because you and I both know that you won't get a reply to the 14 reviews that you linked above.

              • @PukeyLuke: Ahh, the ineffable Amazon review system… which we already know has been gamed and there is evidence of some Heymix sellers asking for the removal of reviews.

If you feel strongly about Belkin, Anker - feel free to comment on/neg those deals. If you feel strongly about people leaving reviews, feel free to ask anyone who has a bad experience with any product to leave a review on Amazon.

Reading your posts and the flimsy arguments you make(this time, two chargers with under 10 reviews) I think you've come to a conclusion and are now working backward to support it.

                • -2

@ihfree: Thanks for the fake reviews link, I think its fantastic the effort Amazon goes to make sure that "verified purchase" means what it says, they'll literally expel any company that deliberately posts fake reviews, and big name companies too. As to why you'd think that validates your argument shows the confusion you have over this matter. You have linked and quoted so many OzBargain bad reviews and reposted them ad nauseum, but how many of them have actually shown the Amazon review that they posted. do you think the answer is zero?? For example the link you posted for "removal of reviews", you seem to believe it unconditionally yet @GunnerMcDagget could have easily linked their actual Amazon review, which would have validated their point, made their comment more interesting and is quite simple and obvious to do, but for some reason they chose not to, @GunnerMcDagget could have bypassed the seller and got a refund from Amazon which he/she did not, @GunnerMcDagget could have even done what you said and lodged a complaint to Amazon but @GunnerMcDagget did not. So what action does @GunnerMcDagget take, they lodge a complaint on OzBargain and @ihfree says "I like I like, that's gotta be true"!!

                  • @PukeyLuke: Yeah, and it would be completely crazy to think the system is still not being exploited. Didn't the Zyron rep DM you with some claims?
As for your rant/tagathon, linking a Ozbargain user and their offsite accounts together is bad net etiquette. You should know that.

You just said a whole bunch of nothing. I never said the product has shit reviews. I said:

brand has shit reviews so beware

And they do, compared to many other brands

        • Oh I stand corrected then-on the product.
But a simple Amazon search will show the Heymix "brand" actually gets reasonable reviews, averaging well over 4 stars,
Which is similar to Anker or Belkin. Not exactly a brand with "shit reviews"!

Stop buying this charger! I bought this one previous deal without reading the comments. It overheated and got way to hot to touch.
Can we just ban all future Heymix posts?
No one should even contemplate buying one.

  • With the amount of people having bad & dangerous experiences with heymix products myself included

There needs to be something done about this.

Can the moderators on OZB ban heymix product posts? Too many people have been burnt (both physically and financially), with these.

IF you bought one of these products, and it turned out to be a dud, write an honest review, regardless of if the seller offers you an incentive to give a positive review.

  • Seriously, I thought something was done about this.

  • Poor product design (daisy-chained ports) and dodgy listing with ERAC (Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council) in Australia. I would avoid even if free.
