Interesting. I'm looking at this holding the older model. imo:

    Pros:
    - Thinner coin edge bezel
    - Nicer case and finish
    - Eco-Drive

    Cons:
    - No bracelet
    - Dial has no texture
    - Cyclops
    - Indices look a bit weird with the cut off thing going into the date, and then it gets even worse because it's manified by the cyclops
    - Non-functioning bezel (I personally don't care but it's a head-scratcher for sure. Why not just have no bezel and a cleaner more minimalistic looking watch?)

Hard pass. Find the old one before they all sell out.

Edit: just noticed the hour and minute hands and almost threw up

    • Hi rose bank, which model would you recommend similar to this? Looking to replace my eco drive from 5 years ago.

      You mean this one?

If so one more point for the older model is it's actually closer to Tiffany blue.

Pretty sure the "deep" colour of the Eco-drive version is not just a product image flaw, it's actually deeper in colour to reflect less sunlight for the Eco-drive solar charging.

      • Yep, that's the one

      • I want this one.. 😢

Sad I missed it at $230 before NY's last year.

on the NJ0170-83X, the bezel action and lume are disappointing. but still, no ragrets

my son wants a tiffany coloured face watch - this one you have posted, OR https://www.casio.com/pt/watches/casio/product.MTP-1302PD-2A…

    • Not available in aus isn't it. Love the color

      • Yeah weird thing is during the initial hype when it was released I remember someone mentioning it was a "Europe" only exclusive model.
But I can see now it is popping up on Casio's official website line up for other regions such as Casio US and Casio Portugal as myfab linked to.

In any case it is in high demand so expect markups and it selling out quickly when people catch onto it being in stock.

        • I have just bought it - on ebay Au, coming from Spain
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285061128614

          • @myfab4: Ok sure. Just so you know you have purchased from someone probably reselling for profit edit: seems like their shop says "Authorized Distributor" so if that's true looks like they are just jacking the price, but if $200 is the price you are willing to pay that's fine just be prepared you may need to pay additional fees when it arrives on Australian shores (as it says on the eBay listing "International delivery of items may be subject to customs processing and additional charges.").

The watch is sold by Casio for $70USD, so around $104AUD. But it is out of stock at most places so eBay might have been your only option.
TicTacArea which is based in Spain have the watch on their page, but it is out of stock at the moment and who knows they may charge more than Casio when it's back in stock because of high demand.

        • Moving to Portugal in a couple months.

Will keep an eye out for these. I'm assuming it'll be cheaper over there if it's a Europe release?

@WasBargain: Should be around the same globally if you buy from Casio (around 70USD equivalent) but seems like from the link above Casio Portugal is selling it for less only €54,90 which is $58USD (it does say "excluding shipping" though according to google translate).

Casio US price of $70USD seems to include shipping, at least it doesn't say otherwise. But US prices are before Tax.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeah, that's cool, thanks mate! I noticed straight away when you linked I was like, WTF, why is my phone defaulting this randomly to my future country of desination.. 😅

I'll definitely try and snag one while over there at the rough $55 euro price if I can. Seems very good for that price! Definitely not willing to pay the over $200, someone else linked here.. 😅 At that price, I'd be hoping for another 83X clearance like you linked earlier. Now that I would snap up straight away if it came down to $229 again.. 😪 @StarBuy if you're lurking.. 🤣

    • Wow, I like that one.
I want a ladies version but only found this https://www.tictacarea.com/en/casio-collection-watches/casio…
the copper ruins it for me

  • you cannot rotate the bezel (please do let me know in the comments how much you hate this)

it should be a crime to have a dive watch bezel that's fixed.
otherwise it's a nice watch because tiffany blue

    • Not trying to start an argument but Citizen's response would be this doesn't claim to be a dive watch. It's 100m with a push down crown. However it does get confusing because they make other watches with those specs & the bezel rotates. So buyer beware.

I would suggest these 2 models if anyone wants a proper dive watch for the same price -

      • with some of their watches, Citizen can be a bit clunky with their design language
