WORX Drill & Impact Driver Kit 20V 10mm $64.99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ Supercheap Auto

990

Seems like a good deal for a drill, impact driver, two batteries and charger, i can't comment on the quality of Worx tools but maybe some one else can fill us in. I don't have an option to ship this set its pick up only but i do see stock locally.

Heaps of other deal on power tools i will add some more here if i can be bothered.

Features:

.POWERSHARE® 20V battery is interchangeable with other WORX tools
.Variable speed control with forward and reverse bit rotation
.Metal gear housing for durability and prolonged life
.Compact and lightweight design for going through narrow spaces
.10mm Single sleeve chuck for one hand operation
.15+1 Position clutch allows excellent torque management
.Kit Includes 2 x 1.5Ah Li-ion Battery, 1 x Charger

If you are allergic to a plastic chuck and a drill with only 30nm of torque they have another brushless model with a whopping 60nm of torque.

  • Are WORX batteries compatible with Black and Decker ?

  • +3

Bought a drill kit for $32.

    • +1

Might be a cheaper alternative if you're looking for something to use around the house.

    • Dang! Should I swap the 18v Katana Drill + Impact driver kit for that? Over 3 weeks and it's still sealed in the box! (To give an idea of how much I actually need them!)

  • Is it good brand/product to buy in comparison to ozito, ryobi, dewalt, makita etc?..dewalt,makita are quite expensive so i think they maybe in another league

    • +4

depend on what you are going to do.

The occasional diy job around the house this will be fine. If you are using tools every day….. well. you wouldn't be asking to start with i guess.

    • +3

I find WORX similar to Ozito: bottom of the pack with low specs, but good enough quality for basic diy.
Ryobi are a league above, some of their tools are low spec but they also do higher spec tools that are a bit more powerful and sturdy.
And then there are the others that cost a ton more that the tradies use.
I use a mixture of Ozito, Ryobi and WORX and I do a lot of diy. Hard for me to justify the price of the tradie tools when mine have been doing a great job for years.

    • My advice would be to buy something once. Ozito stuff, for example, is fine. But personally I'd buy a Makita and hand it down to the grandchildren.

      • +2

Just had a word with my to be born grandkids and they would rather have MakeGPT 3D printer.

  • Thanks op. I got the Drill & Impact Driver Kit and also the Cordless Worklight Skin.
I’ve previously been pretty happy with WORX as a cheap low end tool provider.

    • The worklight is awesome!

  • Anyone know if these batteries will fit the xfinity stuff from Aldi?

  • +3

Is this worth it just to harvest the 18650 cells?
5 cells in each battery, 2 batteries, thats $6.49 each for brand new 18650s.

    • +1

Yea I thought about that but being only 1500mah cells they are most likely not brand name. I got an aldi 4ah battery pack for $20 and that has Samsung 20s cells inside.

    • They have cheap Chinese cells inside. Definitely not Samsung.

      • -2

Aldi workzone batteries do have Samsung cells matey

        • Talking about Worx!?!?!

      • In previous teardowns up to 4Ah, the batteries used Samsung 18650s, the 6Ah battery used Sony 18650s. Not sure where the 5Ah battery sits, or if the battery source has changed during Covid. As others have mentioned with Aldi batteries, you don’t need to spend lots to get batteries made up of Samsung 18650s.

    • Didn't know harvesting batteries was a thing. nice to know. I do need some 18650's

Some of these are available on their eBay Store and can get free shipping with eBay Plus and stack with coupons (e.g PLUS5BONUS, MARPNA) for those interested.

    • +1

is it better to get the brushless tools or the non-brushless tools in the OP post?

      • Brushless is the way to go, more power and longer service life

        • Should I swap the 18v Katana Drill + Impact driver kit for the brushless driver drill kit? Over 3 weeks and it's still sealed in the box! (To give an idea of how much I actually need them!)

          • +1

@wisdomtooth: Definitely… and get a cordless worklight too. It's great to store a charged battery in something that you may use at any moment. I have six WORX/Toolpro batteries and seven tools

            • @sumyungguy: Thanks, @rock-bottom. I went for the cheapo $32 non-brushless drill, minus the loyalty coupon, for $22. This is how much of a tools guy I am! 😄

  • if you don't plan to use it for actual work… then ryobi is probably the most you should pay.

this deal dont have stock in most of the stores in sydney and its unavailable for delivery anyway

    • Delivery available from their ebay store…

  • One of good brands in China. But just good, not very good. Do not compare it with Mil, Mak, Dew…

    • -1

      You don't say

  • +1

Worx Batteries are compatible with SCA and Rockwell as well. Might need tiny modification to remove a plastic bit.

    • +2

100% compatible with SCA Toolpro - no modifications required.

    • Rockwell has a number of battery types, I need a battery or two for my hammer drill but St this price it's probably cheaper to just but the hammer drill kit. I would prefer to get an Aldi one though on account of having heaps of batteries

    • +1

Rockwell LithiumTech batteries would work without modification on Worx/SCA/ToolPro skins, but Rockwell LithiumTech batteries aren’t intercompatible with the other brand’s chargers.

It’s the other way around (using Worx/ToolPro batteries with Rockwell skins) that requires a bit of trimming around the power connector of the Rockwell skin

      • +1

All good. If you have the Rockwell LithiumTech batteries then you most likely have their chargers too. These batteries are compatible with WORX and ToolPro skins without modification.

Anyway, great price for cordless brushless tools for home DIY. Use their eBay store for more discounts and free delivery.

  • Bought the sander from eBay and used some additional discount coupon.

Want the cheap impact driver but not the drill, battery or charger. Anyone want to split?

    • Then I suggest you buy the brushless skin version as that’s heavily discounted

    • What do you want for the batteries?

  • +1

    Ordered one. Thanks

  • Looks like sold out in Vic

  • +1

dang, i should have gotten this, so much cheaper.

should i return my makita combo and get this instead?

    • -1

Probably not, Makita is a great brand and should last a long time.

Bunnings do have a few AEG products discounted. I would still rate Makita higher then AEG.
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-18v-4-0ah-2-piece-brushless-…

    • I wholly agree with @aussieprepper. If you replace your Makita with the cheaper WORX you'll eventually upgrade to brushless such is the joy of aquiring yet more stuff… speaking from first-hand experience

  • FYI most items have no WA stock.

  • +3

Just collected my order. The leaf blower is actually a kit - not skin only as advertised. Great value at $43.99!

    Thanks OP!

    • What and how many battery?

      • +1

        1 x 2.0Ah battery
        1 x charger

        • +1

Yep, just picked up mine. Was tempted to buy another drill kit for the batteries, but happy with just that additional battery/charger

  • Crap. I just paid double that on special for reciprocating saw and multi tool a couple of weeks ago.

The hammer drill is nice. The worx stuff feels a step above toolpro and Rockwell but all use same batteries. These listings are bargains…you got me good.

  • I wonder if it's better to get hammer version:

Worx Brushless Driver Drill Kit 20V Li-Ion $64.99
    or
WORX Powershare™ 20V Slammer Active Hammer Drill Kit $79.99

Specs looks the similar. The only difference is hammer function $15 more.

    • Why not both if you can find stock?

      • They work the same. Slammer has an additional hammer function. No point in buying two.

        • One is brushless driver drill, the other one brushed hammer drill.
          Both come with 2*4Ah.
For the price and if you can find stock, worth buying one of each. No stock around me

  • Anyone received their ebay order? I got 1/4 and they marked all as shipped under the same Auspost Id. On the website status for remaining 3 in "created"

    • Just got mine after a failed delivery lol :)

(ah it wasnt from ebay )

      • I think they are still trying to source the items

        • They sent me mine for free :)
Bought it from one shop "Pickup" but someone beat me to it and so they found me another one and delivered it lol

  • Anyone know if there any slammer hammer drill kits stock left in Sydney area. I need one.
