    • If I have a PS5 controller in my order, is cashback going to be ineligible on the whole order or just the controller?

      • Update - it did not track, I’ll try requesting for it manually.

      • +1

Just the controller. You'll get cashback on the value of the other eligible items.

Edit: sorry I should add. Sony/CR did this when I ordered a TV/PS5 bundle. The amount in the 'My Awards' section of my CR account was updated to show the value of the TV only. I'm fairly confident they will do similar for yours but maybe just check in with one of the CR reps on OZB.

I'm having regrets for not buying the 75 inch 90k . Any ideas if that will come up for sub 2000 again?

    • I think we'll see similar prices a few times more before mid year.

Could always get a 75X90J for about 1800 with ebay plus? Not sure how different the J and the K models are - but the seller is actually Harvey Norman which might be a showstopper.

    • Just for future reference, if you are even thinking about buying something you can price match it on the Sony website and it'll stay in your cart for at least a few months (not sure when or if they actually drop off).

    • Was a good deal however that Full Array LED is old tech now and probably irrelevant as most are on OLED these days. Picture quality is subpar

  • Any way of getting discounted Sony GC’s?

  • +2

Just be aware you may be waiting a while for any cash back. I've been waiting weeks for mine, and others even longer, because I price matched - though I was told it was because I used an ad blocker, which I didn't.

Use the Shop Back offer instead.

    • +1

Same here, still waiting didnt even price match for my Dec purchase, was told waiting for Sony approval, very rude as I am making bucks from them, not sure what approval it is

      • +1

Mine in Nov wasn't tracked initially (after like 7 days), I made the enquiry (using the option provided in click history and it was added the next day). At the time it was supposed to be approved, it wasn't. Emailed the customer services and was approved and payment was made within 2 days.

For my own peace of mind, when I make big ticket purchases using either CR or SB, I would use screen recording function end to end in case any dispute.

        • Screen recording function may i know what you use? and did Cashrewards ask for evidence?

    • It would be interesting to see how others went with their cashback on price matches at Sony. I didn't pull the trigger on a price match due to stories like yours, although I heard others are waiting on cashback on non-price matched items too.

The best price I've seen on a Sony tv I was after was straight from Sony using CR, no price match. I'd recommend just waiting for another deal like this instead of price matching with CR. Or maybe just a good guys after dark sale and not relying on CR. But would be good to hear from others.

I did 3 transactions, 1 without, 1 with and 1 through shopback, all pending lol

      • +1

I've had all my cashbacks tracked. Though it is a crazy long time for the approval date.
        4 transactions, 3 approved, 1 pending.

        • Were any used with a price match?

          • @OldBugger: I had a price matched purchase not paid and had to chase up when I bought the Sony a7iv. Sony claimed I cancelled the order or something ridiculous, I sent them photos of the box and the camera in my possession. I ended up getting help from the CR rep here.

          • +1

@OldBugger: Yep everything I've purchased from Sony has been priced matched + cash rewards + Amex credit (if available)

      • +1

Bought a 65” Oled in November during 12% cashback. Had to manually request cashback to be tracked through cashrewards support. ETA for CB was around 1/3, nothing approved so escalated with CR. Around a week later heard back saying Sony is reporting less cashback than the 12% (so issue on Sony’s end), CR sorted it out quickly approved for the 12%

        • Thanks for the feedback. That wasn't a price match was it?

          • @OldBugger: No price match. Bought at the advertised sale price via the Sony store

      • +2

6/6 approved and paid out cashbacks from CR on price matches from Sony in the last 12 months. One of them required a manual claim to be raised.

    • +1

I didn't price match and my cash back still didn't track. I'm now waiting on the manual process to progress, currently it's pending.

    • Do you mean months not weeks? Getting cashback paid out within weeks would be extremely quick for most stores via CR/SB/Cheddar, that won't even cover the return period for a lot of them. Whenever you buy from Sony via CR/SB/Cheddar you should be expecting to be paid out in 2-4 months…

Or are you talking about the cashback tracking?

Anyone have the price matched Sony A7IV for $2,879.20 in their cart that they’re not using. Please DM.

  • Any lens worth to buy? I’m currently using A73 but only got one lens

    • No one will really be able to give you any meaningful recommendations without more information on your budget, what lens you have, what lenses you want and what you actually will use it for…

Blind recommendation from me would be the FE 24-70 GM 2.

      • I’d like to get couple lenses for landscape as I already have a 85mm for portrait. Any recommendations? My budget is under 2k for each

        • Sorry, I don't do landscapes! hopefully someone else can help out there.

        • Mate the 20mm F1.8 is a GM lens disguised as a G. Currently $1274.96 at Teds, so after CR you'll have paid $1096 ish which is a godd price for a tack sharp lens.

I just price matched the 35mm F1.4 to Teds price of $1784 which is also a pretty decent price, they have been better pre pandemic. Keep in mind the 35 f1.8 is also an awesome lens and for currently $764 at teds with a CR it's a great lens for not much money. Not OzB reord breaking but still reasonable.

I am still waiting for my 10% Cashback since last August when I bought A7IV. So I have stopped believing in Sony Cashbacks.

    • I have received official $400 cashback and also the $220 cash rewards in the last purchase of A7M3.

  • +1

Amex Sony offer $100 off will expire within 5 days.

  • +1

Could get the $1495 A80J for $1185.70 if you combine the 14% and $100 off AMEX! 😲

    • +1

CR is calculated ex-GST, so $1,204.73.

      • +1

Cool, still cheaper than the last JB sale $1270 if Cashback tracks. 👍

  • +2

I got the A73 during the black friday sale last Nov 22, and I was extra careful that I turned off all ads block and click from Cashrewards website.

The cashback did not track after that. I sent a request with screenshots and invoice. All went well after that and got my cashback in Feb 23.

edit: I price-matched on sony website.

  • Looking for a Sony A7IV price match if anyone has one that they are not going ahead with anymore. Please DM

  • Just ordered an item now and I received an email from CR within 5-10mins confirming it has been tracked.
This was a price match that I had sitting in my cart for a couple of weeks.

  • Makes the new 20-70mm lens about $1280, vs RRP of $1999 so pretty good!

    • I’m thinking the same, but already have 24-105, which is pretty versatile. Sometimes I wish the lens can go wider than 24.

    • Price match? Where

      • +1

CameraPro, the example price also factored in Amex $100 credit.

        • Thx, price matched. it is $27 more because it had been reduced to 12%

  • +1

Hesitated and it’s been reduced to 12% :(

    • +1

probably go back to normal tomorrow I did a pm today ;)

      • Thank you!

        • Shop back has increased to 12% if you do prefer that and Cashrewards doesn’t revert back to 14%
