What to Do with a Small Number of Krisflyer Points?

We flew the family of adults and teenagers to Europe on Singapore, and everyone has about 10,000 krisflyer points each.
We aren’t likely to fly Singapore again any time soon (they were great, just aren’t usually the cheapest).
What is a good use of these points?
I have Qantas and Virgin FF accounts with a few points, but nobody else in the family have any points to speak of otherwise.
If it was Qantas, I’d just redeem for wish gift cards or similar.

What’s the best thing to do with Krisflyer?

Just trying out Chat GP with your exact enquiry, here is what they say:

If you don't plan on flying with Singapore Airlines anytime soon and don't want to let your KrisFlyer points go to waste, there are a few options to consider:

Transfer to a partner program: Singapore Airlines has several partner airlines, such as Virgin Australia and United Airlines, that you can transfer your KrisFlyer points to. This can be a good option if you plan on flying with one of these airlines in the future or if you have points in their frequent flyer programs. Keep in mind that there may be fees or restrictions for transferring points, so check the terms and conditions before making a transfer.

Book a hotel stay or car rental: You can use KrisFlyer points to book hotel stays or car rentals through the KrisFlyer website. This can be a good option if you plan on traveling and need to book accommodations or transportation.

Redeem for merchandise or gift cards: KrisFlyer also offers a selection of merchandise and gift cards that you can redeem your points for. This can be a good option if you don't have any specific travel plans in the near future and want to use your points for something practical.

Donate to charity: KrisFlyer has a program called "KrisFlyer Miles for Good" where you can donate your points to support various charitable organizations.

Overall, the best option for you will depend on your personal preferences and travel plans. It's worth noting that KrisFlyer points do expire after 36 months, so make sure to use them before they expire.

    Useful?

    • amazing stuff.. i feel so outdated with what chatgpt is doing

    • Kind of useful, I guess. It is a bit inaccurate, the only giftcards are to the Kris shop, and it doesn't really give any info on which options give better value than others.
      Thanks tho.

  • Thanks everyone. I didn't realise KrisShop delivered to Australia.
I think we will end up with some points to charity and some kids getting a little gift on KrisShop.

  • Pelago excepts Krisflyer points and I have used it in the past.
