Replacing Bush Rock with Pebbles on Sidewalk

Hi all!

We have recently started looking at renovating the outside of our home, and looking to make some quick/cheaper fixes to our sidewalk

We are looking to get rid of these bush rocks that have been embedded into the ground by the previous owner, and then cover with gravel (to align with the rest of the sidewalk)

We are looking for some advice on doing this!

  1. Should we attempt to crack the rocks into smaller pieces to remove them? The biggest are probably 40cm x 40cm x 20cm deep (unsure). How should we do this?
  2. What should be used to fill the holes left behind, before we cover with gravel
  3. Any other advice!

Thank you :)

Just pick them up, use a shovel or a crowbar if they are a bit stuck.
Fill the holes with dirt, stamp it down, rake gravel over the top.
I suspect you are over thinking this.

Well you’re going to have to do a course in OHS site assessment and another in manual handling before you can even think about looking at a rock…

    sidewalk?

    • He means side passage. Better their than putting gravel in his back passage.

Please try and ensure the removed bush rock is reused: https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/get-involved/volunteers/k…

    1. pick up rocks
    2. move them somewhere else
    3. fill holes & cover with gravel

tools: wheelbarrow, shovel, half a clue

  • Any other advice!

That door is stuffed. They've used an internal door externally. Replace it with a solid door and paint it
