Does the 930b has both front and rear?
I thought only 990b has front and rear
930b has rear surrounds, all sound from front comes from the soundbar
Both 930 and 990 have the 2 surrounds that can be used for front or back
The 990 has 2 extra speakers built into the front/back 2 that project from the sides from my knowledge
I cant think of a time when bose wasnt overpriced for its quality point. Actually they had the lead in noise cancelling headphones for ages, then slept on it and sony came out with simply better ANC.
The soundbar is widely considered the best/second best value for its price point.
It generally goes Bose = Samsung > Sonos for the quality/price point.
Its just the Bose and Samsung go on significant sales all the time, its just depends on whats cheaper.
Samsung is better. Bose is overpriced.
Bose is only good when you get them at 50% off.
Think I got the sound bar 500 ($372) bass 500 ($390) and surround around ($318).
Total $1080. Still about $350 too much.
Samsung soundbar 930b at $850 would sound similar and cheaper.
If it weren't for the Samsung sales bringing their bars down to like, what, half price? Regularly? That wouldn't be the complete and utter crap that it is. But they do. So this take is complete nonsense.
The Bose 900 doesn't even come with a sub for christ's sake. It's 50/50 that a bloody logitech system half the price would spank it for theatre.

@congo: You can absolutely compare the THX certified logitech system, with a sub, with surround speakers, to the overpriced what, 3" speakers in the 900 soundbar?

Up firing doesn't mean it has atmos, Atmos is a sound specification/standard.

havn't tried these but the 500 series was very underwhelming…. even with a bass moudule it didn't sound good. much wrose than the 930b I got

I just ordered a Samsung Q990B for $1050 over the weekend.
Always wanted the Bose but couldnt justify the price difference.
Bose sound bar Bass and rear is around $2400-$2500 when on sale.
Samsung Q990B at $1050.
I asked myself " Is the Bose 2.4 better in sound?" After going through so many reviews, the Q990B is better overall.
The only thing the Bose wins on is the aesthetics imo.
can you confirm only difference on the 990 vs the 930 is the extra speakers in the 2 surround speakers?
No, the Soundbar is also different i believe.

Amazon currently has a 10% off coupon on this. Brings it down to $899. At this price have upgraded my 700 soundbar as I wanted Atmos.
got the q930b for $100 more comes with subwoofer and surround sound speakers for front or back. for anyone who doesnt want to spend a extra k on bose modules. but i can also vouch for this soundbar on its own as ive installed a few into jobs we've done!
