  • I'm seeing
$10 cashback using code BOOST9 on 45Gb sim which costs $9.

$16 cashback on 60Gb sim which costs $15 (no code).

Ok, I think it's just the browser plug in isn't correct.

  • Dang why I bought one yesterday now ??

    • Buy two more today!

      • What do you guys do with the multiple purchases that have to be activated within 30 days? Do you chuck them?

        • +3

I'm using them as home internet. I have a Woolies E-sim as my main mobile number and just go through these Boost ones using the physical sim as data on the phone which I hotspot for home use. I think I've only had NBN on for a week or two for 6 months (I use Lintel which you can turn on at will).

          • @wfdTamar: What a great idea! Does the phone hotspot give you coverage for the whole house? Is the ping etc good enough for gaming?

            • @GuntPuncher: I'm the only one here so just move the phone to where I am. Wouldn't think it'd do the whole house but depends how big it is. I have an ex-Telstra NBN modem which has sim backup. Might work in there and give good wifi around the house.

Speed is more variable than NBN. Usually ok for 4k streaming. I don't game so don't know, but I get about 55mbps NBN (FTTN). Just did a Speediest on Hotspot. When it picks up the 5G signal it's good. Just got
              Ping 48, 200 down, 5 up.

            • +1

@GuntPuncher: I tried mobile internet for gaming and it sucks. The main reason is that ping is unstable. Jumps from 20 to 400 and back don't allow to play anything high paced.

              • @Azro: Streaming is also bad.

                • @apple0604: It’s usually ok for me, but sometimes bad during peak times. My 5G signal sometimes drops.

                  • @wfdTamar: I tried streaming a few times and it was quite bad sometimes which was a bit frustrating. And you were right they were during peak time. But browsing internet is fine. I also found quality for overseas calls are not very good. But voice calls initated via some app are much better quality. I am using 4G.

            • @GuntPuncher: I tried. Answer is no. Had to have NBN or I had to move phone around. Speed is also not reliable where I live. Streaming is not good.

          • +1

@wfdTamar: You can use the telstra smart modems (gen 2 and 3) with the Boost or mate sims. They are usually about $20 marketplace. Just have to change to settings to make it sim only.

            • +1

@DJ-C: Or just disconnect nbn. I bought one off Gumtree and it worked on the backup sim for ages. I don’t know if that came out of the previous owners data, or if Telstra covered it.

            • @DJ-C: Just tried this and it works fine. Just popped in the sim and it connected straight away. The Boost app on the phone still keeps track of usage too. Means I don't have to use the phone hotspot which chewed through its battery.

          • @wfdTamar: Can you use an esim and your normal sim together? You get your sms and calls from both? I've got no knowledge as how they work

            • @Raj09: Yes, can receive from both. You pick which you call from. You assign capabilities to the sims in settings. When you make a call you can choose either. I can’t see a quick way (on iphone) to select either when sending an sms.

I plan to use the woolies e-sim to receive sms overseas (you don’t need roaming to receive sms) and stick in a foreign or travel physical sim.

          • @wfdTamar: Launtel?

            • @shutuptakemymoney101: An ISP that lets you turn your nbn on and off daily, also change speed. Price depends where you are and which speed you’re on that day. For me it’s expensive, so I only turn it on when I don’t have these Boost sims or if I have something that needs a lot of data or consistent speed.

        • Anyone here tried 5G Home Internet? (like the one from Optus)? how is that comparing to mobile plans' internet, would that be stable enough?

          • +2

@OverpricedApple: The home internet Sims are usually speed limited but more stable. Mobile Sims get a higher max speed but I find they also get curtailed first when the tower is under load, especially "wholesale" (resellers like belong for Telstra or amaysim for Optus) providers.

            • @mitt: I find the bonus data one these Boost sims seems to suffer from that once you’ve used the standard data.

    • +1

$4.5 is the highest ever. The ceiling for this deal is <=$5.

    • I bought one yesterday for 1 dollar profit
Then later for 3 dollar profit
Now shall I buy another one .. lol

    • +7

Just talked to boost said they can deactivate a service without needing to wait 6 months since last recharge expiry.

And can have more than 10 sim under one person.

4 prepaid kits per 30 mins.

  • Already bought 3 for the past week 🤣🤣🤣

  • -7

    No esim no deal.!

    • +3

Sim cards are still very popular in Australia and I hope it stays that way

  • +1

I like this one-upmanship. Your move SB.

  • +3

Recent days I've just been getting the "Sorry, we are unable process your order.", but I managed to get one today, only one though, now it's back to the "Sorry, we are unable process your order.", grrrr

    • Ive been getting that after i make 2 orders. Is there a 2order limit per day?

      • I dont know…

        I got
        2 on Feb 6th
        2 on Feb 14th
        2 on March 7th

But the last few days I constantly get the error no matter what I try… Today I managed to buy 1 more, but now I'm back to getting the error again, it's frustrating…

        • +1

There is always another way if you are keen. Another IP address, another person's info (no signature required for the mail), "I can't find my address" and make some variations to it manually, another card to pay.

Variations can be as easy as Street to St, Unit 20 to U20.

    • +2

My experience is that using a different email address and credit card lets you place additional orders

      • Zip single use card is accepted. Literarily, unlimited card numbers are available.

        • +1

          Same with Revolut

      • Nope, that didn't work for me, lol

        • Hmmm..🤔. You could also try entering your address manually and spelling it slightly differently (eg "Street" instead of "St"). And use a new browser window in incognito mode just in case. I had the same issue a lot but have since bought many SIMs using the above methods with no problems.

          • @Dacs: Thanks… It's odd… I've only been using new incognito windows in Chrome, I've been trying on my home PC via NBN, as well as from my Surface Go via a Boost sim in a Telstra 4G modem…. I've tried different variations of everything, lol… Oh well…

            • +1

@FLICKIT: Having same problem here keep having errors

    • VPN, different address, email, phone number.

Same payment is a work around.

Edit is the physical addresses they are throttling

Anymore than 2 will throw that error.

      • I can't access boost mobile when using VPN with windscribe

        • Cyberghost worked. It's just you need to change the address. That's what triggers it

Use abbreviations change case and you are golden.

  • -6

Seriously don't people calculate their time messing around with peanut supposedly profits ?

    • +12

Took me about a minute to check out, a minute to walk to the mailbox, and 2 minutes to activate.

Puts this deal at $67.50 an hour, and that's if you exclude any new user/first order bonuses that some may take advantage of.

      • +3

        A true OzBarginer right here

      • -1

3 actions with considerable messing around . Port in , Port out and Port in again at the end. It's really only for people with no time value . Maybe if some Smartie has 10 + phone action going it might be viable and is constructive with it .

        • +2

You don't need to port in and out if you're not using it as your main phone number. But yes, it would take longer if you were using this as your main number and needed to port out.

I initially bought this for data for my laptop, so the phone number is irrelevant for that purpose.

But in regards to simply profiting, you don't actually need to put the sim card in a phone. You just need the serial number, quickly activate online, and you've made $4.50. I actually think I was exaggerating with the amount of time I spend purchasing and activating the SIM, it's faster than that. Most details autofill, and the ones that don't, like identity document, it takes less than 10 seconds to type out.

If someone wanted to take it further, they could quickly pop it in an old phone and sign up for various accounts, potentially extracting hundreds of dollars of value for each new phone number.

Honestly, it took me longer writing this comment than the whole process.

    • So buying cheap Legos and dodgy projectors are better ways to waste time messing around?
We are OZBers, not tycoons with multiple secretaries

    • +5

      Hand in your Ozb membership.

    • +4

Considering that the sim costs $30 and you are making $4.50, you are actually making $34.50 - tax-free. Not bad for 5 minutes of work. Just out of curiosity, how much time do you spend looking at deals and typing your thoughts that you are not interested in?

    • +2

yeah we should bill you for wasting our time with your inane comments

  • isn't there a limit from cashrewards or boost for this?

    • +5

Be careful. If your bank account goes over $250,000, you might not be insured. Just make sure you raise your standard of living to compensate for this Boosted income

      • +1

No need, just make more children.

        • I'd like to know the details of making children 😀

  • -2

Waiting for more providers to roll out 5G, boost is cheap but not the cheapest…

    • +6

Boost Mobile is actually paying you, so does this mean you are cheap?

      • +3

Tim Apple doesn't care about these cashback deals. Apple fanboys and fangirls pay him a lot more. I am a regular contributor too.

        • LOL, I care about cash back, I use it on Amazon…

  • +3

Thanks, bro! at least much easier than collecting 45 cans. Life is not easy!

    • +1

Sometimes it feels like activating a SIM is more work than collecting 45 cans

  • +1

Thanks OP. For $4.5 profit, I don't mind to buy another one:)

  • +1

Last week's $4 profit was good, this is better. I'm getting out of bed!

Is this likely to last only today, as per last week's deal?

    • +1

Haha, it expires at midnight tonight.

  • +1

    Legendary, thanks op!

  • +1

Email confirmation from CB literally immediately after Boost's email. Impressive.

    • -1

If you’d just have said immediately, I wouldn’t have known it was actually quicker than that

    • +1

remember. Don't forget to activate it within 30 days. or the cashback will be reversed.

  • +1

Just realised these come with a free sim tool too haha, if you fully peel the cardboard back rather than shake the sim out.

    • +4

Correct. I'm collecting enough of these to melt them down into bulk scrap metal.

    • Shake the SIM out?! Just how violently do you shake it?

      • +1

Haha, just one or two light taps. Only one sim has been glued down for me, which is how I found the sim tool.

  • -7

For me $50 profit I may consider it . Otherwise yearly plans only .

  • +1

Any news on when boost will offer esims?

    • Eyes and eno. But mostly eno

  • Can we have some sort of 3camels thing to track Boost deal frequency and profit? There's gotta be a pattern, must reverse-engineer it :D

    • I think there is some sort of correlation with hump day. But then, this is the weekend, so I guess it’s back to the drawing board

  • +2

Ffs Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

    • That’s a highly unprofessional error message. At least they abbreviated it, I guess

  • I bought one for my father last week with the same boost9 deal but the click through didn't register at all.

  • The offer says “New customer only”. I have a Boost account and a few phone numbers, would Boost not honour the deal if I made the purchase?

  • Thanks OP got 2 in separate orders, both tracked within a minute

  • +1

can we use this again if we are already a boost customer?

  • Last ordered 23/05/2021 then today.. currently, only have one active boost sim and behold..

Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later

    with love from boost

No one apparently knows how the heck it works with boost.

    • I had the same issue then activated without logging into account fine

      • I was referring to buying a new sim via CR, not sure what acc you're talking about

  • I made an order via browser and that has not tracked and its been 3 days. Made one order on the app, tracked instantly.

But how do people redeem so many sim cards? Can you have multiple sim cards with the same info? Whats the limit?

    • Try 10

    • +1

I don't think there is a limit. I've now got 16 of them listed on my account. Mostly ran out of data, some still in their envelopes, one in the post and one (from this deal) yet to be dispatched.

  • Has everyone received their SIM yet ?. Tracking info was sent to me but it shows pending and customer service was not of much help (asking to call Auspost).

  • having trouble activating these sims getting - request can not be processed at this time

anyone else facing similar issues? or any solution to this?

    • i always have a problem, even if i use a different email to activate. somehow they always manage to match my details to an existing account and that causes an error since i've activated many sims on that account. so it's always off to chat. so bloody annoying doing this every time.
