Seems like a decent deal if you don't need WiFi.
ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-PLUS D4 is an Intel Z790 (LGA 1700) ATX Gaming Motherboard, 16+1 DrMOS Power Stages, PCIe 5.0, DDR4 RAM Support, Four M.2 Slots, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, Aura Sync RGB Lighting

I was tossing up between the Z690-P Prime with DDR5 and this.
Went with this because the prime just looks so basic and cheap. Plus this is a newer chipset.
Good MB
I would buy it without thinking if it is DDR5 version
been looking for DDR5 MB, but they're just so much expensive than DDR4 version
DDR5 mobos are crazy expensive. For my use case, DDR5 vs DDR4 will not make any difference. Would have preferred DDR5 though.
Yeah I always think that kind of thing would help with future proofing though. As silly as that term is for a computer haha. But DDR6 is not going to be a thing for quite some time, so getting DDR5 would mean you have the latest compatible options for quite a while if you wanted to upgrade. At some point DDR4 RAM will become more expensive because it’s rarer. It happened with my DDR3 system. Makes it seem ancient too haha. It may be more a psychological distinction though really.
Yes, if this mobo had DDR5 I would have jumped on it straight away. Feels wrong to build a brand new system for decent money with last generation RAM.
was going to buy but apparently they have connection issues and for online gaming its a no go

Interesting. How do you know which motherboards have the Intel Ethernet i226-V onboard 2.5 GbE controller? Would this be all the new Z790 and B760 chipset motherboards?
Yeah idk , this is confusing, and apparently this was an issue with old driver too.
Maybe best to get a board that has Realtek driver instead of Intel , I think MSI should be safe
Does this only affect windows?
Windows accounts for a very tiny percentage of my "computering". Even then I use wifi on my gaming rig.
Yes, it's a windows driver
Thanks for confirming, not going to impact me thankfully.
This has DDR4 only, do not for me.
