NO WAY BREW I'M GETTING A YETI FLASK AND YOU CAN'T FOOL ME WITH YOUR THERMOS DEAL YEWWWWW

    • But you'd be missing out on a 43% discount BRAHHH

    • YETI fanboy… not everyone can afford a 100 dollar bottle.

  • +6

I've had this exact bottle for the past 6 years and its still great. Can confirm stuff stays very hot for quite a while. I love the opening mechanism and the lock on Thermos stuff. Have a water bottle with a similar design too.

I love the way the liquid comes out of the spout as well, such a satisfying experience overall.

Only thing it it aint a huge capacity, its great for about a large/XL coffee but an all day kinda hot drink…. nah

    • So spout works ok?
      Seems likely to spill?

      • +1

there's rubber (?) seals inside where you drink and also where you fill the bottle. Havent had any spillages, and also no condensation on the outside either which is really important for me

      • Where are you expecting it to spill from?

  • Commuter bottle! No thanks I'll stick with the train…

    Zojirushi or bust!

But seriously, thanks OP. This is the next best thing at a great price…

    • +2

      why the neg!!
I would say Zojirushi are better just not better value?!

    • +1

I'm a big fan of zojirushi

We have a 1.2L flask and it's awesome.

  • +1

Me and family been using this flask for almost a year, got it for $24.95. It is definitely a worthwhile investment and keeps the drink warm for hours as advertised. Just make sure to seal it tight properly or it will leak

I have these ones 530ml (different spout) and 710ml (same spout as one in op's link, comes in red, dark blue/black, silver) and they are really good stuff. All on sale also.

Poured in boiling water at the start of the day and at evening it was still undrinkable and hot!
The 710ml is a good size for me to take to sport , add ice and it's amazing all the way through

    • The 530ml one is marketed for cold drinks, have you used it for hot? Which spout do you prefer? Thinking of getting one for coffee; I realise it may result in permanent flavour to the flask.

      • I think the spout difference is just a safety thing. The 530mL is a larger hole, so if you drank boiling water from it you're more likely to get a more serious burn. Whereas, the 710mL one has a much smaller opening, so the stream of water is a lot smaller. I've had both flasks and use the 710mL one for hot liquids just in case.

      • I have used the 530ml for hot, pretty much the same with heat retention. Bought it because I wanted a different size and wanted to try the different spouts.

Both spouts are fine, but if I had to choose, it would be the one in the 470/710ml. The liquid trickles out smoothly that makes drinking very comfortable, somehow. Nothing wrong with the 530 spout though, it's more of a traditional feel where the nozzle is like drinking out of a soda bottle (but a bit longer and more robust)

Would this be good as a drink bottle? considering getting it but is it really thick because it insulates so well compared with a frank green, hydroflash or yeti?

    • That's what these are for. They aren't overly thick.

      • Thanks OP and VehemenceThePhoenix. Ordered one (in blue)

  • 1.2L stainless steel $64.99 down to $36.95 - midnight blue and red down to $37

  • woolies usually has half price on decor range. better price imo

  • +3

Bought twice, both ended up the same issue the seal not working properly anymore after a year. Leaking.

You can always get replacement lids/seals from Thermos as well. Just call them or email them.

      • Really? We had 2 and both broke on lids in different spots. Probably in the bin now.

  • Thanks OP

  • Showing $32.95 for me

  • +3

Midnight blue option is showing as $22.49 and white is showing as $22.92 for me.

    • Same for me, if you want red, you are out of luck on this size

  • +1

Can still get Midnight Blue and White for discounted price. A number of Thermos products are on special as mentioned. Consider what you you want them for as I’ve found the Camelbak much better for coffee on a long trip as it’s a one handed “press, sip go” and they now have some new designs with interchangeable lids. So do you want to sip coffee, hydrate while playing sports or a dozen different brands maybe more suited to cycling.

Unlike others here I haven’t yet found my merge t cold water solution and don’t haven’t endless amounts cash to keep trying new brands where they look and read great but reality is sealing a bottle when you wanna throw it in a sports bag should be easy but very few have got a good solution for reasonable price.

It was a agonisingly hard decision but my Camelbak 16oz about 450ml has done 30 long distance (400KM) trips and as long as you are prepared to clean it properly when get to you destination it’s good I find it great for coffee just don’t expect your latte/long white foam to last the same distance.

I’m going to try this Thermos which it at a great price compared to what I see it sell for normally just for cold water while I’m at the gym. I think the 710ml is probably a better size and and a bit more more expensive but I’m forever coming home with water left over in my current 700ml so going for something smaller - probably roughly the amount I throw down the drain in terms of difference between 470ml and 710ml. Most ppl know it’s not easy to find the right size and spout and the 530ml looks good but completely different spout.
I’m forever spilling droplets from larger spouts while on a stationary bike so fingers crossed on the smaller pour size.

Good luck to all and keep the suggestions coming please! Also keep an eye on Camelbak as they are good just for cold water as well.

  • there's like a hundred of this sorta thing in my lost & found at work.. think i'll go with one of them for a five-finger bargain

  • Back in stock.

  • I have one but a few times the bottle has accidentally been opened when it was in my bag cos it's just a little button that is easy to press if it squeezes up on something.

    • +1

That's what the little metal latch is for, it holds down the lid in case something does bang into the button. It's not impossible (as it has happened to you) but it's pretty difficult to get the latch off, out and down even with it being thrown around in a bag, so it shouldn't be much to worry about

      • Well I feel pretty stupid… How did I not notice this
