Cleaning White Leather Upholstery

Hi all, apologies for a possible repeat post, but I did a search and the last post seemed to be about 5 years ago.

Just wondering if there are any newer products for cleaning white leather in an 18 month old car I now have. It's beautiful at the moment… best products to keep it that way? Or professional detailer better?

TIA

    Tesla white vegan plastic leather?

    • No Tesla here.

Not many other manufacturers offering white leather

I'm not sure why, but it seems that when a poster asks a question that has nothing to do with the make/model, the instant response is to sledge the poster.
Its really very tiresome. No, I am not a new poster, I don't think I ask stupid questions… what's with the instant sarcasm?
And it's not a freaking Tesla, but it shouldn't matter if it was!

@[Deactivated]: So we can provid you with brand specific instructions 😏
Ie youtube - how good is to clean my tesla vegan leather.

            • @boomramada: Rubbish. Last time I looked, leather is leather, and leatherette is not leather. And if I wanted brand specific cleaning instructions, I would just shell out $$$ to the stealership.
My question was simple. I wanted to know opinions, experience, cost effective with good results that other posters may have found, products that don't perform as well as others.
              Not sarcastic smart arse answers.

          • @[Deactivated]: I'm not trying to sledge or be sarcastic (unusual for me I know). Sorry it came across that way.

Just trying to work out if it's genuine leather or plastic to offer my recommend products.

Also, white interiors are rare these days so was genuinely curious.

            Again, sorry.

BMW + MB both offer white leather.

  • Is it seats and everything?

Steering wheel is hard. No dirty hands or makeup.

Wet wipe everything weekly. Yearly detailer.

Maybe cheaper to swap out steering wheel for easier colour

So you are the first to reply with some help… thanks.
It's a 2021 X5, with what seems to be called "ivory white".

    • Trying to figure out to post a photo. I haven't had to do that so far. The steering wheel is black as is the lower trim, the carpets are black. All the seats are ivory white. So I guess it's 2 tone?
I can post a photo once I figure out how to do that. I am using my mobile at the moment, does that make a difference to the forum options?

  • Put clear plastic covers on it?

You have black cloth with a tacky pattern seats in your Yaris? I guess that will hide the Maccas crumbs… no need to worrying about cleaning them. Until the cockroaches emerge.

Oof, that’s a bit rude lol. I offered a possible solution.

Maybe next time think first about how you’ll keep a white interior clean before dropping a bunch of money on a car and then realising after “hmm, how will I keep this clean?” rofl.

I hardly think putting plastic covers over leather is a possible solution. FFS.
And now you reply with the typical inverted snob comment. If you are not sure what that means? Google it.
Do you never wonder how to keep anything clean?
Our do you just buy cheap crap and throw it out when it looks and smells filthy?
My question was simple. How to keep leather clean and stop it from cracking.
If you have nothing useful to add… then you know what to do. Politely… go away.

            @[Deactivated]: Calm your farm dude.

            • @MS Paint: Why? I asked a very reasonable and polite question.
No wonder this site gets terrible reviews when it comes to forum posters experiences.
But if your want to keep it an exclusive boys club, and treat all posters with contempt, and slap each other on the back with the way you all treat posters with derision and sarcasm… have it your way.
I have been on this site since 2010, and I have just about seen enough.
              I am done.
              Congratulations.

Fair point, I thought it was a funny solution.

            Google it.

            The irony 😂

    • Sounds interesting, but it says it's for "automotive polyurethane coated leather"… is that for real leather or for leatherette?
Does it matter? Serious question honestly.
A couple of general internet searches suggested Weimans or Meguiars… thoughts?

  • In case you come back to visit op, my suggestion for white X5 leather seats, is this product.

    All the best.

  • When OP posts a question and then runs away and deactivates their account because they didn't like the responses they were given
