Thought I'd try scoring some last minute Backstreet Boys tickets for their Sydney concert today.
Ticketek website shows these tickets being available.
I thought it was strange because section 5 seats are quite good and they're still available on the day of the concert, along with section 13 and 17 seats which are quite bad because they have a restricted view. The $40 price difference is negligible given the cost of the ticket.
When I tried to buy a single (1) section 5 seat, this happens
'There aren't enough tickets to meet your request right now. Please try a different ticket category or type, with a reduced quantity of tickets.
If you receive this message even when selecting only one ticket, all remaining tickets are being transacted by other customers.'
However, when I try to buy a section 13 or 17 seat, there are tickets available
I don't go to many concerts or buy many tickets from Ticketek, but this is clearly a bait and switch, right?
Ticketek lures you in with good tickets that don't exit/sold out, then hope you settle for bad seats that can't be sold.
Ticketek are next level monopoly scammers. They've been taken to court or warned by the ACCC and various similar bodies internationally dozens of times. No dodgy arse shit they pull should surprise anyone at all.
