570
20TELEV

Best price to the date. Deal ends today!

Please note the Australia version has a few downgrades compared to the American version:

AU version - No HDMI 2.1 (edit: even though the US has hdmi 2.1, It does NOT do 4k@120hz - so you are not missing much)
AU version - NO E-ARC capability
AU version - NO WISA speaker capability
AU version got VIDAA OS vs US version got Android - Google TV.
AU version - only got USB 2.0, US got 3.0

Edit: those downgrades happen with all internacional version (outside of US). That is is not an Australia issue. UK has the same version.

In another hand the Australia double dynamic contrast (2million vs 1million) - at least It is written on the specs.

  • Looking for an option for a media room.

Any experts have an opinion on this vs a 98" tv? (A TCL was down to $4400 not too long ago)

I've never been overly impressed by short throw projectors in store, but have been warned that due to pixel density, cheap, massive 98"/100" panels aren't a great option either, if you're sitting quite close.

My setup will only be approx 3 metres to the couch (I want to be immersed by the sporting field, dammit!)

    • +3

Unless you go to 8K the pixel density will be the same.

    • +2

Helped a mate set up a UST projector recently, couch is a little over 3 metres from 100" screen.

Even with my glasses on I can't see pixels, super clear.

Depends on your room really though, is it light controlled? Darkened windows etc. Compare some of the TV specs with the projector and see how it weighs out for which way you choose.

    • +1

If you are planning to watch long hours, this is much better for eyes. I have a optoma and love it in that regards. These can’t match TVs with colour/brightness etc as the light source is reflective. Still I have almost stopped watching other 2 TVs.

    • +4

Don’t do it, I got the Hisense 98 one, prob same panel etc, it’s shit, 100% regret, no matter how much I try I can’t get rid of the occasional judder plus various other problems, stuck with for 4-5 yrs now until I allow myself a replacement

  • noo 120" sold out :(

    • Shame, It would be great to get It discounted.

    • 120" is a different projector - you wouldn't want that one.

      • +1

        You mean different screen?

  • +1

comes with the ALR screen ?

    • +1

Picture performance is met with 3,000 lumens of brightness, rendering images bright, sharp and highly defined -coupled with the included screen with Ambient Light Rejecting (ALR) technology which means you can enjoy optimal viewing in all lighting conditions, day or night.

      • what brand screen is it? can i buy it separately ? just wanna work out if this deal is good

        • +1

Hisense Brand. You cant buy separately.

        • ALR screen are usually $900 for 100inch

    • Yes - which is why I reckon they label it 100”

  • I saw this listing this morning but decided against it as thought it was going to be negged lol

Anyone else here have one of these and can comment on long term use?

Is it worth waiting for the newer triblaser tech to improve?

Price I thought was pretty good considering it’s got the screen - though I read this doesn’t have zoom so the location needs to be quite exact to fill the 100 in screen :/

  • +9

It sounds like the AU version has more downgrades compared to the US version

    • the first impression looks bad but It is not that bad. Hdmi 2.1 that would the biggest downgrade does not do 4k@120hz anyway.

      • +2

I agree, it’s not a bad downgrade, but they are still downgrades right? Because the sentence wording makes it sound like the AU is the better model if only considering the specs.

        • +1

Yeah and It costs 4.5k - 5.5k US dollar there and here it is costing $3.6k AUD. Is there anything better in the Australia market? Does the downgrade effect you?

          Hdmi 2.1 - useless if doesn't do 120hz
E-arc - useless If you dont a receiver
Wisa - Useless If you dont have speaker compatible.
          USB 2.0 - slower indeed.
Vivaa - Easy fix with $50 firestick.

Btw - the "better US version" comes with 2 years warranty instead 3 in Australia.

@Dienk: Dienk- I think we’re just saying you accidentally put the word “fewer” in the description rather than “a few” which makes the meaning come out opposite.

          • +1

@Dienk: Who are these clowns negging you smh.

Anyways cheers for the info and post champ much appreciated.

AU version is a pile of rubbish in comparison to US version. Also all the reviews are based on US version.

      • +3

Not all, I posted one from Australia.

    • AU has more than US?! Yeah-wooh!! Straya!

  • AU version got VIDAA OS

I’m not fully in the loop with this but doesn’t chrome cast 4k tv and fire stick max 4k address this?

    • +3

      Yes. Very easy

  • I found this deal but don't know how to post it!
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-galaxy-z-fold3-5g….

  • This or the Samsung triple laser projector ?

  • Anyone know the length and width of the screen for both the 100" and 120"?

  • +1

Updated the POST with UK Review showing the OS and Menus.

  • +6

E-arc is more important than you make it.
Many people are buying Dolby Atmos based soundbars etc and this just cripples them

    • +2

For sure, and sound bars are crippling Atmos in a way haha.

      • +1

Fair point but I did say etc for the home theatre inclusive, it's just soundbars are more mainstream hence why I highlighted it lol. Especially since this is a projector. It should all be about the home theatre.

  • +6

Lack of e-arc is crazy. Like why cripple it in that way.

  • Anyone got the code working?

    20TELEV

The promotion code you have entered is not available at this time. Please try again later.

Tried it with other TVs also doesn't work.

    • The code expired yesterday night

      • Damn.

Next cheapest is VP @ $3880

  • based on this post, inflation is going up next month!

  • Anyone has buyers regret PM me as I'm looking for one and missed out :(

    • Try to price match that at good guys and ask for a discount.

      • Lowest they can go is $4,000 =(

        • +1

VideoPro has it for 3.880. they should at least beat them.

  • missed, but need some opinions. I alreay have an old short throw 1080P projector on my ceilling + 120 inch screen installed. Should i just replace my old projector with new one, or buy 1 of this?

    • This one comes with screen, so you would have 2 screens.
