Discontinued item so get it while you can! Not indicated on the websites, but it used to be $219.00, but now down to $180 as this sign at the Tuggeranong (ACT) store says: https://i.imgur.com/bHAZi36.jpg

I'd considered it at $219 before Christmas, but thought it was a bit too much. Picked one up at this more attractive price. I was more keen to get the Brushless Secateurs, but they are very pricey and I can't see them dropping any time soon.

I would not be surprised to see this discounted further at some other Bunnings stores in the next few weeks…congratulations in advance to those who get it cheaper again!!

Is there anything more pointless than powered secateurs? The weight of the tool + battery defeats the purpose. If something is too thick to cut with regular secateurs, get garden shears, if not shears then a chainsaw or recip saw.

I disagree. I've got a pair of ozito powered secateurs and they are awesome. Especially if you cutting a lot of branches for the bin etc.

If you're already in the eco-system and have batteries etc it's a no brainer in my eyes.

        My arthritis agrees with you!

        • +1

I don't even have arthritis but will definitely help keep it away!

Absolutely love them, makes cutting less straining on the forearm.

      Yes roses.

They're a tonne of work, only look good for half the year (or none of the year of like me you don't really like bright ornamental flowers), they look like shit when you have to cut them back, they're covered in thorns and to keep them looking good you have to buy a heap of fertilisers, dusts and sprays.

Unless you're retired and have nothing to do with your time I don't know why you'd bother.

At least that's what I reckon after having to maintain roses in my last three rentals

      • because my elderly mum likes them….is the obvious answer

  • Showing $90 to me only?

    • Now it back to $180.

      • Curiously, it's now showing at $219 for me on the regular Bunnings site!
        Still $180 on powerpass though.

    • Weird! Which Bunnings were you set to?

  • The sprayer looks as craply designed as the ozito. Better off with the ozito because it's cheap and 5 year warranty (which you WILL need)

    • Ryobi has a 6 year warranty, but ok.

      • Oh right. On the spot replacement? If so, winner. Otherwise, still ozito, because otherwise you may get caught out on first use next winter (happened to me)

$60 bucks each for the secateurs, battery and sprayer….not too bad …..& i need a new sprayer as well
    good job op…thanks

I got this full price a while ago, partially cos I needed a charger to go with the bigger backpack sprayer. I'd say its worth it for the secateurs n battery alone

This handheld sprayer is kinda shite. I don't know if its possible to regulate flow, and it sounds like the pump is going nonstop. It got clogged easily, and I removed the filter to make it work again. The parts are all plastic. The individually sold model has metal parts and is probably better. Its still useful, not sure how long it will last.

The big backpack sprayer I am very happy with, and the battery goes forever. The pump doesn't go nonstop like the handheld one, unless I turn it way down for lower flow.

The secateurs are very handy for me living rural, doing bush regen. Again, the battery goes forever, the smallest battery would be enough to go all day. It can be a bit slow, but its saved my hands from overuse pain. I was pleasantly surprised.

      Great feedback!
I just used the secateurs and they work great, if not a little bit slow.(though not as bad as the reviews had made out)
I think the lack of speed will be countered by the lack of fatigue though. I would say that the faster/stronger brushless model is likely worth the money if you do a lot of pruning.

I have since found lots of people complaining about the sprayer, and there are a few fixes that seem to make it better. (like removing the filter to mentioned, and replacing a screw)

It's a real indictment on the product that it doesn't work out the box though…definitely keeping the receipt and registering that extra warranty.

      Hopefully I luck out though.

      • so if im buying it for the sprayer to be a keeper and reliable im gonna be disappointed?
i really dont wanna drop nearly $200 and still need to find a sprayer?
will be used 12-20 times a year or so if that helps

It works fine, I live on acreage, but use it around the house garden ok. The clog may have been unlucky. The pump running all the time is a bit annoying but it works fine, and doesn't seem to use up too much battery. Maybe I haven't looked at it enough. The pressure is alright. The larger backpack sprayer is a lot better though and you can turn up/down the pressure. Not really necessary for a garden but might be nice

The other issue I should mention - for both the backpack and handheld - Its nearly impossible for the wand thing to sit in the handle. Sucks for storing/transporting

  • Down to $90 now

    • any tips on which stores to try…? tried mentone and springvale this morning but theyre still at 180

      • +2

saw them on clearance at Dandenong
