Like munchin' on free taco? Received a email from Salsa's Facebook site saying any time Mexico wins an Olympic Event they are going to give away tacos for free from 2 to 3pm on that day.

Not sure what happens if Mexico wins after 3pm. I have not confirmed the freebie will be the next day but it makes sense that it would carry on to the next day (especially with the time differences).

GO MEXICO!

    This sounds really dodgy.

    First Mexico has to win a gold, so don't hold your breath.

    What if Mexico wins one in the evening? Since London is behind us more than half a day, would it count as the same day? But by then it will be too late.

    I don't think anyone's getting any free tacos.

      London is 9 hours behind us (east coast) at the moment (British Summer Time). Most events would be won after 3pm London time which is after midnight east coast Australia. Technically it is the next day here.

        Is this deal only valid between 2-3PM AU time, or London time?

        If they win after 3PM AU time, does it count for the next day?

        There's just so much confusion. If they wanted to do a real deal, they should drop the 2-3PM restriction and make it any medal, not just gold. Most people are back from lunch break by then anyway.

        This is just free publicity without them having to pay up. In fact, I think this is neg worthy.

    The Olympics are a competition and competitions are not bargains?

    Any one know what they might win? What days those events are on?
    This just smells like good marketing more then a bargain / deal everyone can get.

    In 2008 they only won 2 golds. Assuming the same performance, maybe a couple of days of free tacos. So I think this is more an ad than anything else. Like Kogan's publicity wh*ring. Let's leave this kind of stuff to F***book.

      It's free. I'd be pretty happy if they won one medal.

      A couple of days is enough, especially for the very spicy ones. Any more and you'd probably be subject to the carbon tax.

    This deal is also dodgy because the food served at Salsas is not even Mexican. It is Tex-Mex, ie American food.

    They would go broke however if this deal was every time the US won gold.

    I was tempted to neg, because this is not a deal but a conditional freebie which may not eventuate. I think Mexico has a chance in Archery and the lighter Boxing weights. It could have been worse. Like a free Cornish Pasty the day an Englishman (Murray is Scottish) becomes Wimbledon champion.

    Don't mean to complain since they're free anyway, but are tacos from Salsa normally this terrible?
    I got two that were filled with a couple of threads of meat, mostly lettuce and tomatoes, and a few threads of cheese. There was hardly anything in there. Customer service was pretty alrigtht though.
