4K TV recommendation for PS5?

Hi guys,

Thanks to OzBargain I got myself a new PS5 (yay StudentBeans + giftcardexchange discounts stacking voodoo magic!).

Now thinking of getting a new tele — based on very cursory reading of the interwebs, preferably something with:

  • no bigger than 50"
  • 4k resolution @ 120 Hz
  • HDMI 2.1
  • [optional] HDMI Forum VRR support
  • anything I missed?

    LG 48" OLED if your 50" requirement is steadfast. Nothing much better.

        LG C2 if you can afford it (there's some good deals currently active), otherwise you could also go for the cheaper LG CS.

        I own the LG C2 55" and it's fantastic for gaming — you could go for the 48" or 42" models if you need something smaller.

          Just to add to this, the LG CS is pretty much the last model (C1) with a C2 processor. Still a fantastic tv

    Real HDR. So many TVs these days only have traditional backlighting, I'm guessing because TV makers realised people don't care so much about HDR so they can save a few bucks. But imo HDR is the single most important next gen feature in gaming, more important than resolution or frame rate.

    LG 42" C2 at JBHIFI is $1196

    The 48" would be better but at $699 more i'd personally go for the 42", The 48" is overpriced imo being even more expensive than the 55" C2 for some reason.

    I had been considering the LG C2 myself (55") but at the time went with the Sony A80J as it was quite a bit cheaper and is an excellent TV. It fits all your requirements. If the LG C2 and the A80J are the same price, go for the LG but if there's a decent difference, give the Sony a look. I think the main difference between the 2 is the LG sceen is a bit brighter but more knowledgeable people than me might have more info. I've had mine for over 3 months now and am very happy with it. You may see reviews etc saying no VRR but an update was done after launch and its been added now. Congratz on the PS5! I love mine!

    OMG had a look at LG C2 and good lord, the feet are UGLY.

    It's like, such a massive turn off. Daaaamn. Can't unsee it now :(
