I bought a new LG P690f Optimis Spirit phone from Coles last week and have successfully unlocked it. I am now using an Optus 3G SIM but cannot seem to be able to connect with their network. All boxes needing ticked seem to be OK but still can't get 3g signal on phone. Optus shop seems to think it is because it was a telstra phone. Can anyone suggest how I can get my phone working properly? I am travelling next week and need it working by Wednesday. Thanks in anticipation!

mmm never mind
i unlocked mine on ebay and it works fine on 3g with optus
Same here, works fine in Sydney metro at least.
I use these settings on the same phone and successfully get 3G:

I use "default" for this setting.
It's also true what user "YYY" said. You need to be in an Optus 3G 2100MHz area. This generally means only major metro and regional areas and some major highway routes. For other regional and rural areas Optus uses the 900MHz 3G freqency which this phone is not compatible with.
Thanks camelgrass -finally got it working!
It is possible that you can't connect to Optus 3G network in 900Mhz areas. The LG P690f is a 850/2100Mhz phone. You can only connect to Optus 3G in 2100Mhz area.
