Excellent price on this portable monitor at under $100 AU and beating my previous deal last month. Obviously given the price it's not the best portable monitor out there but it's still really good value if you're on a budget.

Featuring a 14" IPS display with 1920x1080 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 250/m² brightness, 45% NTSC colour gamut, 178° wide viewing angle and dual speakers. There's two USB-C ports for display/power and power input, PD passthrough charging, Mini HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Don't even try to say this should have anything higher for this price. It's not a gaming monitor with Freesync so 60Hz is perfectly fine.

Congratulations you can read the specs.

  • Anyone using one with Macbook Air M1? I read comments on some cheaper screens that they weren't very sharp?

    • Don't know why that would be

    • +5

That's Apple being Apple. macOS isn't enabling HiDPI aka retina mode so text can look less crisp. I use a lot of M1 and haven't had the issue with HP and Dell monitors.

BetterDisplay can fix these issues if you have them.

      • This BetterDisplay worked well on my hackintosh notebook with a ps screen i would also recomend to gove that a shot

      • BetterDisplay can fix these issues

I’ve been looking for a HiDPI activator that works with current MacOS, ta!

    • +2

The display on your MacBook Air is higher resolution than “Full HD”, so any monitor like this one with less dense pixel resolution will look less sharp by comparison

  • Disappointed I missed the uperfect deal.

    Please keep these coming.

Am looking for a well recommended portable touch screen monitor

    • -3

If you have money get a 15.6” OLED 4K display with Touch. $550 includes delivery but so worth it for the picture and contrast.

  • +4

Yicks. Check the reviews. One person received socks instead of a monitor and another received a mouse.

    I wouldn’t touch this seller.

    • -8

Shit happens. We all forgave Shopback in exchange for $3…. well most of us. You'd be refunded by AliExpress if it did happen anyway.

      • If tracking was provided, it's not so easy to argue the case since there are scammers on both sides of the coin. But my last experience of this type was favorable. Seller did send out another but only after Ali refunded me in full, but I did message the seller and paid them back minus the 'partial inconvenience refund' they offered

        • +1

Sellers are required to provide tracking these days. AliExpress are really good for these kind of disputes. I've never had issues with them.

      • +1

Negged by triggered Shopback shills lol. Having your personal information stolen and accepting $3 as a sorry means all is forgiven 😂

      • +1

And sometimes that process can take months.

And it shouldn't be hand waved away with 'just get a refund' if it's that blatant from this seller.

        • Months? AliExpress disputes often resolve within 24 hours. Most of mine have taken no more than 2 hours for a decision to be made. AliExpress customer service is 24/7.

Besides it's only 2 wrong items versus 1 review with the correct item and over 100 orders before posting. Plus really good seller feedback. It's a blatant seller mistake.

          • +1

@Clear: Months as you wait weeks for delivery, then if it doesn't show up, you have to wait the amount of weeks they decide before you can even start the process.

Then after video or photo evidence of the sellers nonsense, I've had them side with a seller, twice.

Having said that, so many sellers are fine, I keep using them. But again, if this seller has dumped socks on one person and another mouse, that's cause for concern and should be called out.

Right now I'm going through the process, and the 'tracking' info provided isn't recognised by Auspost, so making the resolution even harder.

All I'm saying is most people probably don't want to wait weeks or months to go through their refund process. It's not Amazon.

            • @Oxxy: Given it's a Choice product you're not going to wait months for delivery. More like weeks. Probably 2 weeks if you're lucky. You're under the assumption this is a scam and everyone gets something else.

Have you tried 17track.com for your missing package? Auspost won't recognise it until it's scanned into their depot. Assuming it's not going through a courier.

              • @Clear: Yeah, I think I'll have a look at that Clear, cheers.

They've been selling for 3 years and had over 2700 reviews in the last month. I do believe it's either an honest mistake or what it looks like is a competitor spamming their reviews. No reviews get 50 likes -_- … I'd lean more towards the review with a photo. Looks legit

I got screwed over on Aliexpress in a similar way. Never got my money back because I ripped the shipping info off opening the package (stupid I know now).

Speculation: The plastic bag I received had only a plastic bag within it which also had shipping info on it. Inside that plastic bag were something not sold by the original seller on Aliexpress. Perhaps the orders are bulk shipped here cheaply then resent locally? And middleman stuffed it up?

      • +1

They do combine packages if bought in a similar timeframe to other purchases……..

        • +1

That seems to be common for me now, typically make multiple purchases in batches, they are usually all arriving bagged within another bag.

          • @Oxxy: Exactly my experience…. If u click the tracking number sometimes, they make a little show of the fact ur packages have been upgraded and combined for quicker delivery…

  • What to do with this monitor? Genuine ask

    • I personally have one in my laptop bag for when I'm travelling. I frequently move around for work so having a laptop plus an easy to carry portable monitor makes productivity so much better.

      • +1

Hmm can I connect it with my camera in field to check photos straight out? Is it that good?

        • +2

If your camera supports HDMI out this will work. It's worth noting this particular model has a lower colour gamut being a budget display so the colour won't be the best compared to the camera display.

    • Connect a Switch for full powered dock gaming.

    • +1

I have a portable display(lapdock) and it has been surprisingly useful.

      • Setting up PCs
      • Second display
      • Steam Deck desktop mode
      • Samsung Dex
    • I have done a lot of late night data centre work (niche case for sure), but the extra screen is so, so worth it.

  • Are there any good brackets or clips to physically attach these to a laptop screen?

  • finally, I was looking for portable monitor sub $100 with usb-c connection. As I don't wont to bring too many cables during work-travel.
    Thank you
Was using an old surface as extended monitor, and it depend on internet connection, cannot use it offline.
Even though I don't think it eligible for tax return.

    • +2

Since AliExpress are charging GST you can claim it back at tax time.

  • any more deals on 4k 15" screens? i missed out on the last one

  • It shows 103$ for me with everything, and cannot use the code MAR6, is there a way around ?

  • Paid a bit over $100 today. Not a bad price still

  • +1

    Arrived today, Sydney, NSW
Works well and looks sharp using the USB C to C cable. Cover stand is a bit stiff but appreciate the inclusion and all the cables. Included wall charger is rated to 15W.
    Thanks again OP
