Seeking advice on a courier service to transport car parts from Gold Coast to Melbourne

Hi there,

Looking to transport some goods from a wrecker near Gold Coast Queensland to Melbourne Victoria.
Items are a boot, rear wing, exhaust.

Was contemplating flying up and driving down but the cost of all that may potentially outweight the cost of transporting the good if it did it through a courier. It'll be great to have further advice from people that have done something like this or the best approach.

Kind Regards

  • Must be a reasonably unique car that you couldn't find those parts at a wrecker closer to Melbourne?

    • Fooly sik Civic GT SS

      • I didn't know OP's name was Hector

I have use these guys twice, no issues so far https://www.transdirect.com.au/

    • Not to be confused with the one based in Bangkok, completely different box of frogs.

    • I was also looking for a courier. Thanks for the link!

  • Airtasker - some desperado will do it for fuel money + $20

  • Before trying to get quotes, I would have them wrap the items ready for shipping. When I have parted out cars previously and sent interstate, the costs can get pretty high quickly and your option to go and pick up may start to look better. Generally I would package the items and then use one of the freight/courier comparison sites to get rates from various sources.

They're cheap but atrocious as with any other Hunter Xpress subsidiaries.

Good if shipment arrives safely and not missing.

    • don't think they courier car parts anymore

      • Correct

    • he's been hit and miss with me. once when collecting parts off me for a friend, and second time to organise car collection he just cancelled.

Did you ask the wrecker? They send parts interstate all the time so should already have their preferred couriers. Less hassle for you this way. I once got a car diff shipped from NSW to Melbourne and they gave me a shipping quote and I paid them the full amount directly and two days later I had the parts at my door.

    • Brilliant Thanks for the advice. Turns out he does ship from his end.
