Ended up purchasing the BlackWidow V3 Pro Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Yellow Switch. Not the best price I've heard about, but really wanted one, so just bought it from Amazon for $199 and free delivery.

Given that the RK is hotswap, I'd rather go for that. Plus the 2.4gHz and Bluetooth is handy as well. The Blackwidow isn't wireless.
I agree, don't think I'll ever buy a non hot swappable board again.
Lubing stabs makes such a big difference and such a pain to desolder.
How quiet is the yellow switch compare to RK?
There's only brown and blue switch variants available, though it's hotswap so it can be as loud or as quiet as you want it to be.
If you've never used linear, be ready to get used to them over time… quite sensitive.
Not sure if that is entirely true. Linear switches can have different springs/force actuation.
Razer green clicky is 50g and Yellow 45g.
I have the yellows (3 years) and had greens for many years before that. Those 5g make quite a difference. I type fine now, but took a while not to switch letters when typing quickly.
I think the comparison you're making is between the razer green and yellow switch and not Linear vs Clicky.
Razer green has a 1.9mm actuation point with 50g actuation force.
Razer yellow has a 1.2mm actuation point with 45g actuation force.
It's probably the 2 factors combined that make it feel like a sensitive switch.
The Razer yellow is very comparable to other manufactuers Silver switches which are marketed as speed/gaming switches as there's less distance required to actuate the key.
I have the mini yellow switches, and find them to be too sensitive. They almost always double or triple press, even if I press them all the way down hard.
Is this how yellow switches are suppose to be?
No, no switch should be like that. That's called chattering, and it happens with a lot of boards that come with propiertary switches, like Logitech G's Romer switches (2 of my old G boards experience key chatter) and Razer's switches. If it was hotswap it'd be an easy fix but these boards aren't hotswap.
Thanks. I was going to try another set of yellows.
Would the green switches have this issue? Or is one click = one key press?
Thanks in advance.
Would the green switches have this issue?
It shouldn't be happening with any switches, period. Sign of poor QC, it won't happen to every board out there but when it does it's with gaming-branded keyboards more than any other.
If you go for green switches (which are clicky by the way, not as quiet as your yellows), you shouldn't experience it. If you do and you're still under warranty, return it.
I have yellow switches and have no problems with them.
How long have you had your keyboard? I think I had mine for 2yrs, but don’t recall it being a problem at the start.
About 2.5 years.
Is the yellow switch noticeably more quiet than the other switch?
Really depends on your typing style, and if whether or not you bottom out your switches. They aren't as loud as clicky switches, but they still can be loud. Look at some sound tests on YT.
Yellow will be noticeably quieter than the green switch. Green is a clicky switch that has an audible click for every keystroke on top of the standard sound every switch makes when bottoming out.
