Just received an email from Sony that “Sony camera owners who added their cameras after signing up for a Creators' Cloud membership will receive 25GB of free storage, up from the usual 5GB.

*There are differences in the services and functions available in different countries and regions.”

  Time to read the T&C's and see if you keep ownership of your content.

    Good pick ….but I am wanting to believe it is existing content on their webiste - not necessarily the content you have tagged as copyright or images uploaded from your own device.

    I don't think you'll lose ownership by uploading, however…

    4.3 You hereby grant Sony the non-exclusive, world-wide, royalty free and irrevocable right under copyright law (with the right to sublicense the same to third parties) to use for the purpose of providing the SERVICE any image, video, sound, text or other information posted or transmitted by User in connection with the SERVICE (the “Posted Content”) (such use includes reproduction, performance, distribution, public transmission, display, partial omission and other adaptations), by Sony, its affiliates or any party designated by Sony. You also agree not to exercise any moral rights of the author regarding the Posted Content. It is the User’s responsibility to confirm and warrant that the Posted Content does not infringe upon the rights of third parties and otherwise conforms the TERMS.

    Sure, the intent is only to provide the SERVICE but reproduction, performance, distribution, public transmission, display, partial omission and other adaptations as well as sublicense the same to third parties is pretty broad.

    Where do you see that? I can't find details of ownership in these Terms of Use.

    And under the Master Cut (Beta) TOU it states:

    All of the User Data and Use Videos you upload or create through this Service including, but not limited to, text, pictures and images, are owned by you, as between you and Sony, except for the portions that belong to Sony or third parties.

    [edit: Ah I see it in the ToS when signing up. Odd that it's different]
