I've been keeping an eye on prices since launch and all the "good" branded ones are still sitting around $2,200 - $2,400+ even on sale. But I would recommending going a Zotac, PNY or Inno3d which often go for around $1700-$1800. They all review really well and I don't actually think there's much of a difference, especially considering the massive heat sink on them - thermals aren't really an issue anyway, which is the main differing factor with all the brands.
The price difference now between those "cheap" brands and the more well known once is actually substantial enough not to warrant it.
I got an ASUS TUF at launch and absolute love it, such a great card. I don't regret getting it as I've enjoyed the months I've had with it, but if I were to get one now, for sure I'd go one of those cheaper brands that I mentioned over the ASUS.
