Oh sorry lol, should've been more clear
The difference is one is gold and the other is platinum.
I'm not sure I understand the difference. Does this mean that the platinum is better efficiency so less power consumption? So the EVGA would be better than the Corsair?
When it comes to PSUs, they are ranked from Bronze to Titanium for efficiency. The minimum you should look for, should be Gold as it offers better efficiency under load (consuming more power). Both PSUs you have linked here are great. Corsair is very well known in the PSU game and an excellent choice, but the deal on the EVGA is better here as it is a Platinum PSU and cheaper on price. Also, both have a 10-year warranty, which is reassuring.
Thank you so much for the info. Greatly appreciated it!!! :)
Here's what Bing has to say on the subject:
The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5 has 80 plus platinum efficiency rating according to its manufacturer website while the Corsair RMx 2021 850 has 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating. However, efficiency rating is not the only factor that determines the quality of a PSU. There are other aspects such as fan noise, cooling performance, voltage regulation and ripple suppression that affect the overall performance and reliability of a PSU.
According to techpowerup, the Corsair RM850x performs well in these aspects and places third in their relative performance chart, with only a small gap to the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold of similar capacity and the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3. The EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5 is not included in their chart, but it is likely to have similar performance as the EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3.
Another source also compares these two PSUs and mentions that Corsair RM850x has a larger fan size (135 mm) than EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5 (130 mm), which means it can cool more efficiently and quietly. They also note that Corsair RM850x has better voltage regulation and ripple suppression than EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5.
Therefore, based on these sources, it seems that Corsair RMx 850 has some advantages over EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5 despite having a lower efficiency rating. However, both PSUs are still high-quality products that can power your system well.
Shame it didn't quote PSU Tier List but the information is fairly accurate.
Thank you so much for this!
Was that from Bing powered by Chatgpt?
Yup, I can't believe I am tempted to convert to edge as my default browser.
Really..you got that from the title?
Thought it was a clip from Real Steel 2..
