I recently got a SodaStream and I'm just wondering if anyone has already done the hard yards and found the cheapest gas refills?
Only place I have asked is Target, where you swap your old one for a new, for $20. I'm hoping this can be found cheaper, as it's literally like < $1 worth of CO2, but I guess this is how they are going to make money!

I was curious so I looked into it too. There's something called a SodaMod which adapts paintball CO2 canisters for use in the Sodastream. Search on SodaMod. Let us know how you go. I'm considering getting a Sodastream but will see how my consumption goes before worrying about mods.
I had a custom hose made using the valve from the genuine cylinder it came with. Haven't had any issues with it since.
Cheapest would be a hose that connects to a standard CO2 bottle that you can swap at a home brew shop. Hose was difficult to obtain but been using that big cylinder daily for 8 months now and it's still far from empty.
