One day, mate. One day …
Wow. The pioneer of electric vehicles! Nothing like that stooge Musk!
Telsa was head and shoulders above most in that area, living or dead.
They don't make them like that anymore. He certainly didn't try 'n' make 'em like him anymore. Fancied pigeons more than women..
That's an interesting observation, and unfair at the same time. He decided to dedicate his life to the betterment of humanity, something that seems to have become extinct in the last 100 years. It sure is sad he didn't have children, bit that's what it is.
what have you pioneered?
Bad humour on a bargain website π
I think Tesla would actually be pleased that an EV company was named after him if he were alive today. Though if he were alive today he probably would have registered Tesla trademark himself under all categories he would be involved in which probably would include EV technology.
You purchased this item on 26 October 2017. Still haven't read it or any of the other free books…
Legend of Tesla. This will skip the long queue as my next one.
Nikola Tesla at age 28 sailed to America in 1884, with 4 cents in his pocket, few of his own poems, & calculations for a flying machine. He first found employment with Thomas Edison, but the 2 inventors were far apart in background & methods, & their separation was inevitable.
"left behind very beautiful, artistic & fascinating homeland to live in place that was machined, rough & unappealing - 100 years back in civilisation" ;)He was mostly unhappy that he was blocked by the Capitalists to give more to humanity :(
4 cents in 1884 would actually be worth $2.34 today, easily enough for two candy bars and a stick of gum.
Back in the days when binary was an engineering term
The one man I wish I could have met :(
How 'bout Adolf in 1889…
The one man I wish I could have set, in concrete and pushed into the Spree.
Is this man related to the car company?
'Tesla, Inc., formerly (2003β17) Tesla Motors, American manufacturer of electric automobiles, solar panels, and batteries for cars and home power storage. It was founded in 2003 by American entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning and was named after Serbian American inventor Nikola Tesla.'
Not really. Eberhard and Tarpenning named it in his honor. Which ended up being a curse. Because it attracted the attention of Musk who wanted the name, took over, and forced them both out.
You think Sberhard and Trepanning could have turned Tesla into the world's top EV maker and one of the top car makers without Musk?
No and neither has Musk. Tesla has yet to make a single cent from selling a car.
@bargain huntress: If Tesla develops the first true full self driving car to be approved they will be making all the cents. Though unless Musk has been keeping their development in self driving tech a secret then other car makers may beat them to it.
@AustriaBargain: Not going to happen. They claimed to have level 5 years ago, but can barely pull off a level 2. https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/motoring/tesla-under-us-crimi⦠Musk is a con man.

So many mysteries around his work. I wonder what became of all the documents that were siezed after his death.
Donald Trump's uncle said there was nothing important or valuable in them. So he was either as dishonest or incompetent as his nephew.
"Incompetent"? No.
After reading this book and other historical documents about him, I get the feeling that a lot of his work was based on either fantasy/ wishful technology or over zealous marketing to make it look like things could be possible where in reality it couldn't.
A brilliant mind none the less but one that seems to teeter on that edge between brilliant and crazy.
Imo anyway.
Agree, that was also my conclusion.
He was a man with a vision of a better world. Muuch like in his era, he's misunderstood even today as his intellect was 100-200 ahead of the world he lived in.
You have to assume that hundreds of years and trillions of dollars in science and engineering has since surpassed anything that was in those documents at the time.
I just saw Tesla on Records of Ragnarok. He's an amazing man!
I recommend the movie "The Secret of Nikola Tesla" 1980 with Orson Welles. It was previously on Netflix (US), not currently available on any AU streaming services. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_Nikola_Tesla
Thank you for the electric vehicles
I have no idea why but I saw the title initially as Ninja Tesla.
