Yeah, and don't get WD Red but WD Red Plus instead. All the current WD Red (non-Plus) drives are SMR which is inferior for what WD Red was designed for, i.e. NAS.

Inferior is an understatement, not only inferior but not fit for the purpose of nas use.
The only thing smr drives are useful for are cold storage.

I'm thinking that if there is a warranty issue, then I'd have to send that back to the US, which is a pain. That is why i was thinking about where to buy it locally.Warranty should be global, though WD needs to go back to HK for warranty I think.
Or Amazon will deal with it directly
