  • What's the cheapest receiver with DIRAC Live?

    • The Onkyo TX-NR7100 would be the cheapest one we stock with DIRAC Live :)

I hear some pretty awesome things about the RZ50… but apparently they pop every 30 minutes of so, which would drive me bonkers.

    Is that still an issue?

    • +4

We have just set up two of these in the showroom a couple of weeks ago and as soon as we powered them on, they required a firmware update so I believe they would have resolved this issue because we haven't heard any popping from either unit since we installed them :)

      • Nice! Thanks!

    • +1

Never had any popping from mine. Solid unit.

  • So are all the HDMI ports (in and out) on the RZ50 HDMI 2.1 compatible (4k @ 120hz) ?

How does the RZ50 stack up against say a Yamaha A6A ?

Also on your linked page it says the RZ50 warranty is 2 years, not 5 years as per your deal comments?

    • I believe the RZ series is 3 years warranty

    • Yes all HDMI ports on the RZ50 are HDMI 2.1 compatible.

This link provides a great comparison in depth. Main difference is that the Onkyo is THX Certified and has DIRAC Live on board, and IMAX Enhanced, which Yamaha does not, and even though the Yamaha supports 8K passthrough, it can only upscale to 4K whether as the Onkyo can upscale to 8K. You've also got Chromecast, DTS PlayFi and SONOS compatibility with the RZ50. Yamaha can do up to 4 zones of audio vs 3 zones with the Onkyo, and has XLR connectivity and slightly more power.

Apologies for the misprint on the warranty it is in fact a 3 year manufacturers warranty on the RZ50 which has been adjusted accordingly.

  • thats some ripper pricing on the RZ50, I assume supply of this unit has come good. I paid $2499 last year

    • We got our hands on all the RZ50 stock from the supplier but now we do only have limited stock available as we were the only retailer with stock available and they've been selling through :)

  • I hope they've fixed the power limiting bug in the RZ50 that ASR picked up.

  • Didn't Onkyo go bankrupt in 2022?

    • The company was bought by Voxx International and therefore they were able to continue manufacturing and releasing new products such as the RZ50 :)

  • are Are you into Yamaha receivers also?

    • Unfortunately we dont stock the Yamaha range

  • i am after Yamaha RX-A8A 11.2Ch AVENTAGE AV Receiver with Dolby Atmos

  • Currently have a lexicon rv-6 and it's a great receiver but i am missing the hdmi 2.1 features. I wonder if the rz50 would be a downgrade in auqio quality…

  • Is the integral 5.4 in stock?

    • Yes it is :)

  • Hi all, for any AV Receiver enquiries above please contact us for pricing and information :)

  • Hi FunkyDan,

Just missed out on the ONKYO TX-RZ50 deal :( any chance I can purchase? Don't mind waiting for stock.

    • I received their newsletter a day or two ago. It was advertising this deal long after the deal was sold out. Maybe they'll honour it?
