DC Ceiling Fans

Looking for cheap DC ceiling fans to hopefully be more energy efficient, rather not cheap and nasty, and don't need built in lights.

    There’s a website that’s only about fans… but I can’t think of the name…

      don't need built in lights.

But they're always flashing their head lights on that site (so I've been told).

    • Probably called fansonly. That's what I'd call it if I owned a site like that.

      Good fans but not cheap.

    beacon lighting
    early settler
    bunnings

These days all fans are nasty with inflated prices.
And here are the super nasty fans to avoid https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/cooling/fans/artic…

    • Also, different beacon stores run different prices sometimes. Worth asking in multiple shops.

While DC fans are more energy efficient and have other benefits the old AC fans aren't really that expensive to operate.

  • actually got some from Mitre10 online but not sure if they stock them anymore

Fans online etc are good. https://www.fansonline.com.au/

    Look at Ventair Sypda lines.

Check your local Bunnings, about a couple of weeks ago, I've seen most Ceiling fans have been heavily marked down, YMMV

  • I got two of these installed recently and am happy with them

  • Fans are very subjective due to their design. I can say there are literal tonnes of Ventair DC fans installed around Australia. Is it because they are easy to install so installers default to them, or is it because they are good quality? Hard to tell

Some of them can also be upgraded easily to be 'smart' if that's something that you're into

  • I've recently ordered a fanco eco silent dc remote with light. fanco is rated highly on both choice and productreview. of course won't know if it's a good decision for a few years, might find out it is a bad one earlier though. purchased to replace an existing one which I've 'fixed' twice already

Here is one from last month that is still $69.

    • Yeah save those, if they were white I would grab them, they do have a similar white one, but it is not DC and so looks more like a $69 fan
