We purchased a VTech Kidizoom Studio camera for one of my kids just over 1 yr ago that is now playing up - we got it from Costco and just wondering what they are like for returns/repairs for items? I would assume this came with a 1yr warranty as per most electronics, but didnt know if they went over and above normally…….thanks
Costco has always been fantastic for returns - they have always refunded everything we've returned, no questions asked and most outside of any warranty period. But it's always a refund and if they happen to have it in stock, you can go and buy the replacement.
And don't worry if you don't have your receipt - all purchases are recorded against your membership card.
My son's also did this. Emailed Vtech and they said SOL…
I took the batteries out for about of week and let it completely power drain. Work fine after that.
Warranty is not limited to 1 year, take is back to Costco. They may refund or replace.

Consumer guarantees
Under the Australian Consumer Law, a number of consumer guarantees apply to goods and services supplied by VTech Electronics (Australia) Pty Limited.
o Under the consumer guarantees goods must:
§ be of acceptable quality;
§ be fit for any purpose represented by the business or made known by the consumer before purchase;
§ match descriptions made by the salesperson, on packaging and labels, and in promotions or advertising;
§ match the sample or demonstration model the consumer relied on;
§ meet any additional express warranties;
§ have spare parts and repair facilities available for a reasonable period after purchase;
§ come with full title and ownership;
§ come with a right to undisturbed possession; and
§ not have any hidden securities and charges over them.
o Under the consumer guarantees services must:
§ be performed with proper care and skill;
§ be fit for a particular purpose or achieve a result agreed between the supplier and the consumer; and
§ be delivered within a reasonable time or by the end date set in the contract.
o A major failure in goods is one which cannot be fixed or is too difficult to fix. In the case of a major failure a consumer can:
§ return the goods to the supplier and ask for a refund;
§ return the goods to the supplier and ask for a replacement; or
§ keep the goods and ask for compensation for the difference in value from either the supplier or the manufacturer.
o A minor failure is something that can be fixed in a reasonable period of time. The supplier can offer a refund, replacement or repair of a product or a re-supply of the service. These must be provided free of charge.

Unfortunately whilst VTech Electronics (Australia) Pty Limited is happy to answer any queries on the product(s), we are unable to uphold any warranty claim on items purchased via eBay or other online auction sites.
Our warranty is valid only for the original purchaser of products which are purchased from a VTech Electronics (Australia) Pty Limited authorised retailer and is not transferable to another individual or company through unofficial outlets such as eBay.
Any warranty queries for items purchased through online auction websites should be directed back to the original point of purchase for consideration.
how many refunds can I do a month? will it look sus if i buy and refund 3k worth of electronics?
Id say they will just refund you given the small amount. They may not have it in stock anymore either. They tend not to bother repairing unless the manufacturer insists.
