Fusetech Being "Temporarily Closed" for 2 Months after Returning Laptop, What to Do Next?

I recently (~2 months ago) purchased a Dell Inspiron 5368 from Fusetech.

However, I soon came to the realisation that some of the keys were not consistently working. I reached out to the company and they were very efficient with the process, allowing us to send the laptop back to them for it to be fixed.

However, this was 2 months ago and the store said they have been Temporarily Closed for this time. I understand that it has been holidays for the last month, but I am in need of the laptop having starting university next week. I had no response to any messages or emails as of now and I have been contemplating buying another laptop.

As such, I was wondering:

  1. If anyone knows when Fusetech will open back up?
  2. Will it be better just to buy a new laptop?
  3. Which laptop would be suitable for school (preferably budget-friendly, under $500 if that is not too optimistic), in which I am studying Dentistry so I believe I do not need anything too fancy and I also have a powerful desktop at home in the case I do need one.

Thanks in advance.

The rep @FuseTechAu was actually last online 3 days ago

Have you reached out to them?

    • Oh thanks, I only reached out through the sales email and the facebook page.

slow time of year for e-waste flippers

Really doesn't inspire much buyer confidence when handling the website like an eBay store…

Okay, thank you for your input. Will consider that in the future.

    Hi,
Do you have parcel tracking that they ever even received the Laptop, or if the Shop was closed is it sitting in
a freight warehouse somewhere with them leaving a card at the door to arrange redelivery or pick-up?

Have you checked to see if they have refunded to your payment source?

    Did you PayPal it?

The tracking code said it has been delivered on the 6th of December.
No refunds at the moment, and yes it was through PayPal.
Thanks for the link, I have checked it and find it very informative

I randomly got a refund from from them about 4 weeks ago while waiting for a repair, they didn't even say anything, I was wanting the laptop fixed. I wont touch Fusetech again. Horrible experience.

  • I’ve a laptop that’s got a warranty issue, they have not yet returned my email.. shop still closed…

  • @KCshotta How has this played out - did it get repaired, replaced or refunded ?

I have an issue where they have requested I send the laptop back for repair/replacement, but have been reluctant to send while the store is closed.

    • I have not heard a word back from them at all. When did they request you send it in?

      • It was at the beginning of March I last heard from them.

    • They didn't refund me for a couple of months, while I pestered them with emails and messages every few weeks. My dad did some research on their ABN to find out that the business was now joined/originally with another business that goes by the name "Radium PCs" we sent them a call and they picked up and told us that they will do something about it. They didn't do anything for 2 weeks so we left a lightly negative comment/review on their FB which lead FuseTech to magically reply to the emails saying that Radium had nothing to do with the business. I received an invoice shortly after, but no money coming in. After calling them up once more, they reluctantly sent the money back after making up some BS excuse on why they couldn't do it earlier.

I personally would not send the laptop back and look into other options like local stores.

Nice work dad on the ABN snooping, my laptop actually came good so no need to return but some very useful information. Thanks for the update

Correct, the 2 companies are linked:

      • Thanks. Same sort of experience - weeks between messages, no specifics etc. I ended up doing the repair myself rather than take a chance on sending it back.
