Awesome DSLR Camera Card (SanDisk Extreme Pro SD 16GB - Class 10) for ~$38 Shipped

170
FREESHIP

There have been a lot of SD card deals of late on OzBargain, but I can confirm that this is the lowest price this SD card has ever been, and it is definitely one of the best for photography.

The "Extreme Pro" series is the fastest SanDisk chain of cards out there, with something ridiculous like 95mb/s writing speed, so you can copy your photos onto your computer almost instantly.

I find that 16 GB is the best size for use in DSLR, but some like to have a few smaller cards.

Hope this helped any photography gurus out there.

  • I DON'T KNOW WHY IT SAYS I'M A REP BECAUSE I'M NOT!

Did you check this box "I am a Store Representative" when posting?

    BTW, nice find!

    • No, and no problems!
It just assumed I was a rep because of the coupon.

      • If I tick "I am associated with MyMemory" see what happens:

"You have just indicated that you work for this store. Once submitted, your comments for this thread will have a 'REP' box next to your username. Please do not make false declarations as a joke, or your account will be penalised."

  • "Awesome DSLR Camera Card" should probably be in details rater than the title!!

"SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro SD - Class 10 for ~$38 Shipped" will sound better and attractive… for leisure OZBargainers… but nothing stops the serious ones!!!

If you shoot in RAW, I suggest 32GB or more.

Many pro's would suggest multiple 8's or 16's are a safer bet.

      • Unless you are doing videos.

  • Just be aware if your camera/device does not support UHS-I the speed rating is useless.

    • The Class 10 rating is still relevant for many camera's and the speed of this card is well beyond 10Mb/s. Not all Class 10 cards are the same and this is one of the much better ones.

For many cameras compatible with SDHC, they can take advantage of the higher speeds - at least as fast as their internal buffers can tranfer data anyway. UHS-1 is backward compatible with SDHC and SDXC - http://au.lexar.com/support/sd-uhs-i-faqs

      • The speed of this card is actually useless for most devices. As I said, your device needs to be UHS-I compliant to take advantage of the speed. Otherwise, just buy a cheaper class 10 card - the price of this card is definitely not worth the VERY VERY MINIMAL speed increase your non UHS-I device will experience.

        • is the speed on this card help much on D90?
or Extreme SD Card 45MB/s - Class 10 is good enoguh?

        • +2

You really need to know the internal transfer speed of the D90, some places have done speed tests, try google.

In short though a 45mbs card is great compared to a 10mbs cheaper card, both cards though are class 10, hence my previous comment that all class 10 cards are not the same. I doubt you would see any improvement with this card over a 45mbs card.

As jondave suggests not many things can take advantage of this 100mbs card but my point is if you have a fast media recorder then this card will be superior to a run of the mill 10mbs class 10 card.
