  • Thanks OP - on one of my cards

Sniip is dropping personal payments to 1.29% on March 1.

Couldn't get this to work last time.

I think the issue was paying my Rego with AMEX is a no no.

Passed on this last time. Too much stuffing around with KYC. Asked way too much for my liking.

Yeah asked they asked me for a photo of my credit card and licence. I bugged out.

Only got it on one primary card. Hardly worth the effort of signing up.

    • Agreed. Not worth it for a paltry $20 - a fee.

Got the last offer on my AmEx but did not bother going ahead. When I tried it wanted much more info compared to Sniip like photos of ID and pictures of you holding up each credit card you are going to use in the app.

I've been perfectly happy earning slightly less points paying bills via BeemIt and Zip with VISA and MasterCard CCs (typically earning 0.75 to 1 points/$) anyway which charge 0% fees (far superior to the ridiculous fees of Sniip [1.5%] and Payment Logic [1.3%] even taking into account slightly higher earning rates of AmEx cards in my opinion)

@AussieDeals. Being able to earn points for free via BeemIt and Zip sounds amazing.

However on Beem’s website and CBA’s (which has a page covering Beem), it says that you can only link to Visa or MC debit cards, not credit cards. Unfortunately debit cards don’t earn any points (at least I’m not aware of any - if you know one, could you link it? Interchange fees are much lower for debit cards so I would have thought it would be pretty hard for a provider to provide any meaningful points)

I looked on Zip and didn’t see where you can use a linked credit card to pay for Bpay or similar and earn points. Again - can you share a link? It would be awesome to find a cheaper alternative to SNIIP etc.

      Thanks in advance

You can easily add credit cards to BeemIt and then pay bills via BPAY (you cannot transfer cash to others with credit cards in BeemIt though) https://www.beemit.com.au/faq?topic=4407788662169&question=1…

With Zip you simply use the BPay option in the app first to pay bills without any fees, then pay off your balance with a linked credit card (add your credit card in payment methods)

The HSBC everyday global debit card earns a 2% cashback on tap and pay purchases in store under $100 but not for any online purchases (you need to deposit $2000 into the account each month but can quickly withdraw that to your main savings or offset account after your meet that requirement). This debit card is far superior to any credit cards points program for that particular use case (tap and go purchases under $100)

Per the comments on this page, looks like it's buying personal information at $20 (before 1.3% fee)…

  • Is it only pay.com.au that allows bsb payments? Also citi payall but didnt get approved. Can't pay rent on bpay unfortately

FYI pay $118.46 on your bill via deal to get charged $120 on your AmEx.
