How to Browse Securely if You Have to Log in?

I'm trying to search for things which bring me to a login. Sometimes it's Google, sometimes other.

Is there any way to just search without this BS? It's not illegal stuff, it's getting me worried I can't search what I want in AU.

This happens whichever browser.

Depends what you mean by " a login".
Content behind paywalls for example is not a "can't search what I want in AU" thing.(whatever that is suppose to mean)

Try a different search engine like duck duck go if you want to reduce direct google interaction

Use a VPN if you think whatever youre searching for is being blocked due to the Geolocation

  • Use different search engines, presearch or Yandex seem to yield better results anyway though I've never been asked to login just from a search. Setup a burner email address just to get the info you need at the time?

I'm not sure I follow - no login is required to do a google search from a chrome browser.

You can log in, but there is no requirement to.

We're gonna need 1 example of the site you are trying to bypass.

    Username doesn't check out

Going to need a screen shot, that sounds more like you have some dodgy software installed somewhere or malware that's misbehaving. You shouldn't ever need to login to a search engine.

My only thought is if you're using Google image search for porn - https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2023/02/google-will-soon-def…

  • Create a fake account with bogus details, use a VPN, install and use noscript (manually enable only those scripts absolutely essential to run the website), run from a completely clean browser that you you don't normally use for anything else (eg if you use chrome, install firefox for use when you don't want to be tracked, or vice versa), delete all cookies when done

  • They already know what your searching for….

    • But if everyone is searching for the same thing, they can't catch all of us!

      • We are all individuals…..

  • username does not check out

  • I have a google account only for YT Music. I refuse to log in to Google on my desktop. I don't use Chrome; FF to avoid constantly being nagged to sign into Google.

If I need to log into other sites I do so in a private window and close when finished.

I never have an issue with Google Search. No need to log in.

  • Incognito mode > Google search should be enough if it's legal stuff

    • or just use search engine like duckduck go

I wish I could downvote this post for how vague the question is …

Upvote to all the helpful suggestions though, even though we have no idea what on earth the OP is asking exactly

  • Firefox, duck duck go etc…

  • If you're getting random login pop-up boxes irrespective of browser, website or search engine, you have a problem with your computer

  • Delete system32.

  • Create a seperate user account on your computer.
Use a free email account like GMX and create a google account using that.

Not certain if telemetry exists between these accounts.

  • If its something like Newspaper articles just subscribe to say the SMH or the Herald sun and you'll get access to all the papers under that company.
This is the most common where it will show you part of an article and then make you login.
But yeah would pay to run a Virus scan on your computer to just be on the safe side especially given how vague the question is.
