I bought Samsung S23 from Amazon but just wondering if it's worth to purchase Samsung Care directly from Samsung. It's currently on offer at 50% discount.
I used gift cards so don't have screen replacement offer from Amex.

If you tend to drop or damage your phone then yes.
If you take care of your phone and usually keep them in good condition then no.
My credit card comes with phone insurance, I just rely on that.
Citibank limit is 1000 per claim
Amex is just front screen insurance. (Ie, you're not covered if it's the back)
I bought Samsung Care for my S21.
I never used it and only decide to get a mobile refresh at the last moment to get my money's worth.
It was not worth it for me.
I've heard in the past, people got an upgrade when they did a swap (eg, if they had an s21, they got an s22 because they ran out of s21).
Obviously not guaranteed. But hey that might give you an extra 2 years of phone, which extends the initial outlay
Just a waste of money !
I don't buy it.
I believe the issue is "I bought Samsung S23"
I bought the S7, it was advertised as able to go in water / sea (person places in his 'rash' vest pocket and goes surfing
My phone went into sea water for a literal 3 seconds, and started to get wrecked.
ACCC ruled and fined samsung 14 million for misleading and refusing to warrant the devices

I am now in talks to get a full refund for my device

Oneplus One - No issues bought in 2015
Xiamoi Mi A1 - No issues bought in 2017
Realme X3 SuperZoom - One issue, Power Button Ghost presses, out of warranty, repaired no cost, within 3 business days
Same happened with my s10+, cameras were wet and network wouldnt work. Samsung fixed it last year for free, nearly 2 years out of warranty. But I looked at it recently and threes still water in the camera. Sent it back again and they refused saying there's no damage. I doubt you'd get a refund but they could offer to fix your phone.
A refund is the only acceptable solution as the phone is technically obsolete.
The phone was sent it for warranty within the original warranty period and was refused and now is 4 years later.
I've never had it in the past but I pulled the trigger for $124.50 for 2 years care. You have to purchase care in the first 30 days from purchasing your phone. It is 50% off for S23 owners purchased from any store.
I generally take good care of my phone, screen protector, case etc. I upgraded from Note 9 which is still in pristine condition.
can you buy SScare after you got the device for 50% off? can't seem to see that offer
