I got mine from kogan, soft foodbed arizona oilled leather tobacco, $110. They're often on sale there with added code. Stock varies, don't think they're in stock at the moment but check back.
I found the tobacco color a bit yellow on mine but oiled them with coconut oil and now they are a perfect griege. It hasn't left any residue or smell either

  • ive seen so many posts on the 'Mums who Clean' facebook page about these, they are quite susceptible to mould, so keep in mind if you live in a humid state.

    • Thanks for the heads up, was going to get it, but being in Sydney, doesnt seem like good idea with the humidity

      • yeh cause the base is quite porous, so + with the sweat from feet. the pictures were so grosssss. and since they cost quite a bit you're kinda in the i dont wanna throw them away yet i dont wanna wear it after a 'clean' dilemma.

Never had any issues with mould..

Me either, live in qld and have worn birkis for the last 15ish years. I don't fuss over them either, they've gotten wet plenty of times. Even the old pair that have been sitting in my cupboard for ages hasn't gotten mouldy. And everything gets mouldy here. Maybe the non leather ones are more susceptible?

          • @Helenn: Ah right, it does look like the corky one, I don't own any so don't know the differences

            • @MeesusEff: if you don’t own any , read the details of if it’s leather or their flor / synthetic upper ….never any issues with mould, i’m in melbourne and wear when washing car on hot day ……i only have the hard / standard for bed ones as i figure more durable …no foam and simpler construction ….suede leather glued to cork footbed , doesn’t get simpler.

  • where's the deal

  • -3

This is cheaper on many other sites. Simple search in google shopping….

no way this is a deal
get these instead they're like $60
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/birkenstock-unisex-gizeh-sandal…

    • birkibuc ….synthetic upper vs real leather ….birkibuc , flor , birkenstock have ways of not saying synthetic , never seems to be shortage of the synthetic upper ones ….it’s the real leather ones that are the challenge to get in the right size …..

    • +1

Synthetic. Please read before you undeal

  • Anyone confirmed these are genuine? The price seems super low compared to other listings I can find and apparently stock is hard to get at the moment.

      Okay, so follow up:

Did a bit of digging and comparing the photos on this website to those on the official Birkenstock US and Britain (we don't have one, just multiple retailers parading as Birkenstock that also appear to have questionable shoes) and followed this and this on how to identify fakes. They do not look genuine to me and I will not be purchasing. Here are the things jumping out at me:

      • Leather icon is missing from the sole (neither old or new version)
      • The pictures are super low res, but when you zoom in on picture 2 to look at the logo towards the heel, it looks doctored. I see a box around it where the image pixelation changes

Let me know what you think and if you spot anything else that looks incorrect. Would really love for someone who gets a pair to let me know if they turn out to be legit!

Follow up 2 - can’t edit my original comment

Scrap the first dot point - newer articles are saying the leather logos are now not always included.

Have removed my downvote as they now seem less sussed.

  • How's everyone going with the break in procedure?
