Best 30-32" TV or Monitor for Use as a TV & under $300

I've about settled on one but before pulling the trigger, thought I'd ask here. Need 200 x 200 mounting holes.

I watch general stuff, iView the most and I have a dongle that gets me some other bits. Not subscribed to any services (rip-offs).

Want BT, dual wifi, and USB.

Thanks!

The famous phillips 32 for $210ish posted many many times here. New and second hand.

But how to watch tv (just free on air) on that?

    • I always missed those deals. And the issue there is it's just a monitor. It assumes a PC is attached, w/speakers. No USB and not sure of HDMI-input for a Firestick, etc?

      • There is usb. And hdmi. What monitor in 2023 diesnt have hdmi?
Well your post says monitor to use as tv…

You can get a 40-inch Android 11 smart TV for under $300 - any reason you might need the smaller size (sub-$200) or just a monitor?

    • It's for a smallish bedroom and the only wall which can mount it (to face the only 2 possible bed spots) is 30" wide. It's okay to be 32" if it tilts & swings, but 40 won't work.

I'm looking at this one. It might be the only one that has all of the ports. Shame it's HD, but not paying more for Samsung frame with terrible reviews.

        • The bad reviews were very bad. Can't recall, but I think no BT? & I use a headset I have to not disturb the household.

          • @Geekomatic:

Want BT, dual wifi, and USB.

You want a tv, not a computer monitor. No computer monitor has bluetooth, wifi, or usb that reads movies (only usb as a hub).
Well, none except for the Samsung smart monitors, but that's a bit out of your budget.

At 32", the Samsung rock-bottom linked is probably it. They just don't really make tvs at that size anymore. No market for them. If it doesn't have the features you need, hop on gumtree and look at your options.

            Edit for further detail:

The bad reviews were very bad.

Unfortunately, this might be the case for all brand new, sub-40" tvs. Like I said, there just isn't any market for tvs this size anymore (at least, not if supply is anything to go by). They are built at a cost. Wouldn't you believe it, it's actually more expensive to manufacture 32" tvs relative to 40 and above. The reason being that they are pumping out so few numbers of them. The sweet spot is 65". Anything smaller is relatively more expensive (relative to screen size, with greater disparity the smaller you go), as is anything bigger.
So manufacturers who bother with TVs this size need to balance the cost of production (setting up manufacturing lines for a low-demand product, taking it away from higher-demand), and the final price. This means corners must be cut somewhere. They could make a great 32", but it will cost way more than anyone is going to pay. So they need to somehow make a 32" tv cheap enough that they can set the price appropriately. They do this by, you guessed it, making a shit tv.

This wasn't the case when 32" were actually in demand (although the technology might not have been quite as mature as it is now). When 32" tvs were being sold for upwards of a grand, and people were buying them in droves, manufacturers could actually put their resources into making a good one. Demand was high enough to dedicate manufacturing and R&D to them, so they could build them to a higher standard.

I see you as having two choices:

            1) Old second hand gumtree tv.
            2) Monitor, such as what has been suggested, with a Google TV.

Pick which closer matches your wants.
