  • I am (close to) ordering this one today, well if I can get over the few things holding me back.
First the CPU - it is only quad core which is a bit strange for an 11th gen i7 CPU.
The screen has no touch function, which I prefer if possible (but willing to overlook for the better resolution/colour/brightness of this panel. Bonus points if it is the same panel as the 90Hz one in the Ideapad 7i reviewed by notebookcheck:

I had the 11th gen i5 8/256 version for a couple months. It's plenty fast for everyday stuff. 2k screen is very good (not sure on refresh rate on mine). Nice and light, great battery life. But I only paid about $600 after cashback and I didn't need touch on a laptop.

        Nice deal.
I have found the newer version on the Lenovo education store - it has 12th gen i5 1240P (12 core), and 90Hz screen for $1353.87, or the i7 for $1523.97. (Although will take 2 weeks to get it)
Will most likely go for the i5 here.

        • Yeah, 12th gen i5 with 90hz for same price as the one in this post would be the better buy

          • @rosebank: In the end I went with the Yoga 7 AMD on the edu store, as it has touch/360 and pen.
Ryzen 6600 model with 16GB around the same price (although IPS screen is 60Hz, OLED 90Hz available for extra but did not want the PWM and battery drain)
Heres a GPU comparison which made the final decision

            • @repeat: What's PWM? I've seen it mentioned twice today

              • +3

                @rosebank: Pulse Width Modulation.
This is a technique used to modulate the intensity of LED (either backlight or OLED) simply by changing the % of on time vs off time for a fixed frequency.
It is cheaper and simpler than just modulating the intensity brightness via current/voltage setting.
The resulting observed strobing effect, if done at low frequencies (50-400 Hz) can provide eye irritation, headaches and other discomfort to some users.

Agreed, 12th gen intel cpu is a big step up over 11th gen.

Graphics Card Ram Size ‎16 GB

    Impressive

    • Also 2GB per Lenovo website

  • I thought whole point of a yoga was so you could use it as a tablet?

    • The Yoga 7 (not this model) can do that, the other models do not have the 360 hinge

Intel 13 gen is ready, 11 gen is still 1382aud in the market as BIG SALE. How crazy Australia PC market is.

Keyboard, and key register issues are prevalent, and Lenovo already acknowledges it, but still no fix. Pass

    • Is that with the yoga slim line or other lines like the ideapad?

  • Spec is good, but my experience with Lenovo support was far from ideal.

  • include Intel Core i7-11370H in title

  • How does one get access to the edu store lol
