This is the new version (2022) of the Osprey Farpoint 40.

When comparing with other sellers, you can tell if it is the new version of the bag based on the colours available as well as the fact that the new version only has one size, as opposed to S/M and M/L previously.

The only local stock I have found so far is Paddy Pallin, who are selling the bag for $260.96 for members ($10 for life membership).

Also available at Amazon UK for $229.71 delivered.

$214.99 seems to be a good price for this bag in a post COVID world, as the retail is USD 185.00 + sales tax in the US (about 267 AUD).

Here is a review of the new bag.

  • It looks more like a Osprey Porter than the old farpoint, at least they changed the location of the laptop section

I remember buying the previous version for around $100. This price seems steep!

    • Damn yea, reckon it'll ever drop down to around $100?

Nice post OP but dang I get frustrated with sites like the one linked. Six pictures - all exterior, none with any compartment open to see how the interior looks.

  • Anyone recently tried to use the "lifetime warranty" guarantee in Australia? It's something they advertise in the U.S. store but not in Australia (I think it says it 1-2year manufacture warranty here)

"Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge — whether it was produced in 1974 or yesterday. If we are unable to perform a functional repair on your pack, we will happily replace it. We proudly stand behind this guarantee, so much so that it bears the signature of company founder and head designer, Mike Pfotenhauer."
