eBay Plus $30 Gift Card Promise for Not Cancelling Membership

Hi all,

Early last month I was attempting to cancel my eBay Plus membership, and as I was going through the steps there was a page that offered me a $30 gift card if I choose to continue my membership. It also said that I would receive the gift card within 10 days of renewal payment. So I took the offer and maintained my eBay Plus membership.

The renewal was paid on 15 Jan 2023 and until now I have not received anything. I contacted eBay, though only been a day, but they wouldn't give any answer right away on chat. Only saying that its been raised to the 'specialised' department and wouldn't give any indication when they would return to my query. I am keen on using the gift card for a purchase and I thought this should be a rather straight forward process. I have received faster help for something more trivial in the past.

Good thing I took a snapshot of that offer so if they deny anything, at least I have some sort of proof. I didn't send it to them yet as I'm interested to know what they will say about it.

Just wondering if anyone had similar offer? Did you get the gift card in time or did you have to pursue it? I assume it was electronic gift card?

    NEVER accept lollies from strangers.

    Instead of joining Ebay plus I just fill my cart and tell them that Aliexpress will pricebeat.

    Either I get it at the discount or I shop elsewhere!

      This, for some reason the message isn't emailed.
      Check eBay messages in the app or site and it should be there

    eBay Plus customers getting extra vouchers, some not getting the ones they're owed. What a world we live in.

    same issue here, I contact them after 15 days of my plus member renewal (25/12/2022), then contact them once per week to "follow up".

    Finally receive mine on Monday (6/2/2023), just fyi, might help you have a idea how long it take to receive your vocher

      Thanks for that. That’s a long wait. Did the voucher just pop up in your ebay message or was it emailed to you? They promise someone will email me but I haven’t seen anything. I contacted them around 5/2/2023 so looks like another 2-3 weeks based on your experience

    Ebay did not send me the promised gift card either. I queried this with them on two occasions. Long story short, they require the exact date I tried to cancel my subscription in order to query their system to generate the gift card. I did not keep a record of this. So they have now rejected my claim, they won't give me a refund for the membership. I'm super annoyed.

    Renewal date was 17 Jan 2024. Followed up on 1 Feb and today.
