Steelcase have 30% off selected models. Some appear to be cheapest ever. Free pick up from Mel or Syd, otherwise coming up as $105 delivery for me but presume it's variable depending on location.

Be careful when choosing as some chairs do not have lumbar support.

Chairs with arms and lumbar support:
Series 1 $759 -> $531.30 (+ $42.00 headrest option)
Series 2 Mesh back $989.00 -> $692.30 (+ $94.50 headrest option)
Series 2 Solid back $1,059 -> $741.30 (+$91.00 headrest option)
Gesture Cloth $1,814.00 -> $1,269.80 (+ $261.80 headrest option)
Gesture Leather $2,683.00 -> $1,878.20 (+$261.80 headrest option)

Some desks are included but I haven't looked into them. Ended up choosing the Series 2 Meshback with headrest (rather than Series 1) as it feels more premium (firmer netting), its armrests don't move when reclining and it has higher back for taller people. Gesture seat is very thin (intentionally) at the back and reviews suggest it can lead to tailbone pain over an extended period of time. Obviously do your own research, visit their showroom in Melbourne or Sydney or Arki Environments in Brisbane.

    Damn, no gesture with 4d arms and headrest:(

      • Whoa, the black ok black leather is pricey!

        • but also has the biggest discount. gotta spend money to get them savings

    • That sounds terrible. I'm certainly not picking mine up unless it's brand new in box.

      • By default with either pick-up or local delivery the chairs are given fully assembled, which is done to both minimize the amount of work a customer needs to do to set up, but also for self-pickup, because the boxes are often quite massive and fitting them into a vehicle is usually easier without the box than with the box. We can handle pick-up boxed by special request for most products, although certain products still require assembly for safety and compliance reasons.

        As to foohy's issues, for the delivery we are reliant on third parties to handle both the warehousing as well as the last mile delivery, and we have worked to improve on the handling processes with them since that time and I don't believe we have had any recent cases of the casters being scratched upon receipt that have been reported to us. The issue with the fabric colour was an unfortunate mistake with the order from the factory that was not discovered until the products were ready for delivery to the customer. On this I can only admit that we made a mistake here and are working to improve these processes going forward, and I am very sorry for the issues they came across.

          Can we choose to not have it assembled? I mean if it doesn’t fit into the car in the box, we can just load the parts separately and assemble at home.

          • @oleglap: Hello oleglap,

            We can do that depending on the item but it needs to be requested directly from the customer service team to set up. There are certain items, namely Personality Plus, Think, and Migration SE Pro, that do need to be assembled by an installer for compliance reasons at the moment, however.

    I picked up one of these for $1,000 ish and it’s phenomenal I was able to select colour, arms, fabric and so on. It was a bit of a wait though. HaworthFern

    • Looks like current price is $1.7k. Similar trend across the board - Aeron is close to double what it was pre-covid.

        Black only is available at office works but I emailed the website above and the did a similar price.

        • Arn't they from the US? How much was shipping.

          • @tlai: I don't recall clearly but I think about $100. But I picked mine up from the Melbourne store.

            • @MrFizz: Not sure how you did that as when I went to BTOD and tried to checkout, the only country available is United States.

        • Did they do the version with the adjustable lumbar support and 4D adjustable armrests? If so, that is a bargain.

            @anarky: This is what I got with the price at the bottom (copy and paste from quote).

            • @MrFizz: Hey mate, did you get an optional price for the headrest?

              • +1

                @Jfi2ee: No I didn’t sorry, I saw some review where they didn’t love it and I didn’t think it would get much use for me.

        • The Officeworks version of the chair seems misleading, based on the reviews.

        • +1

          I did the same as you recently (haven't received it yet), was about 1.1k with lumbar and armrest. I think shipping is free depending on where you live.

          • @PlushyAngel: How did you go about ordering it? did you mail email them or order through their website??

            • +1

              @Dhache: You have to email them directly. You can use their contact form on their website: https://shopping.haworth.com/contact/. When I contacted them, I asked if I could customise the colour because they only have black on the website.

              Their customer service is a bit slow so you'll need to be patient.

              They do seem to have a promotion on their website at the moment which brings the base fern to $888 (cheaper than at officeworks @ $989), so maybe you could mention that to bring it down even more.

  • Damn, no leap with armrests, would pull the trigger if it was included

    • Same here!
      @SteelcaseAustralia - any chance you could extend the sale to Leap v2 with arms?

    Hi Rep, can the Gesture - black edition be purchased with a headrest?

    • +1
      The brown/grey gesture with arms n head is tempting but black would be an insta buy.

      • +1

        Hi, no we don't have Black Frame options with HR for Gesture in APAC. We have it in a lighter frame, but that one isn't part of the sale.

  • How much is shipping to the NT? Postcode 0800

    Discount on leap with arms please

  • I am more of a fan of mesh chairs like the Aeron ever since I read the study which concluded that fabric/leather cushioned office chairs, over the course of a year, gained an average of approximately 3g of fart particulates compared to less than .005g in a mesh chair.

    It's not the weight that bothers me, as 3g a year is imperceptible, it's knowing the extra is there.

    "Fart particulates, also known as flatulence or fart gas, are the culprits of this unpleasant phenomenon. They’re a mixture of various gases and particles that are produced by the digestive system and expelled from the body through the anus.

    The flatulence particulates that linger on office chairs are like unwanted house guests who overstay their welcome. They contain harmful substances like methane, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon dioxide that can cause irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat, and can also lead to headaches and dizziness.

    So, the next time you sit down on an office chair, think twice. You never know what kind of “farty” surprise is waiting for you. And let’s not forget the unpleasant odors that can make even the toughest of employees feel like they’ve stumbled into a skunk convention."

  • Was just about to bite and then I was quoted $259 for shipping, to 'Regional WA' despite the fact I live in suburban Perth. Is this an error @SteelcaseAustralia?

    • Yes I got the same problem: $259 shipping to 6000. I think they set anywhere outside Sydney and Melbourne as "regional".

      • Seems insane that I could buy not-even-the-cheapest office chair from office works for less than the price of shipping for this one. Steelcase need to look at their freight contracts.

        • if you really want a laugh Haworth takes the cake, wants to charge me $426 to send a fern chair to regional victoria

  • Will there be another 30% off sale soon?
    Was about to pull the trigger on the Gesture cloth but I fell asleep while doing so last night haha.
