[PC, Steam] Free - Megajump @ Steam

983

Very positively rated game now permanently free.

MEGAJUMP is now FREE forever.
DLC or Microtransactions for skins maybe in future but not ATM.

As some of you know, I discovered an exploit in Valves new pricing engine.
This lead me to push the price as high as I could as a joke (inspired by hidden and unknown)
The game costed a whopping 505000$ to buy for a while, I got called Tang Xiaolong the money launderer and this has been a pretty stressful experience (I wish I had enough money to need to worry about laundering it)

Bought at 50% off, can I have refund?

  • +10

Repeating textures, crude physics, crappy UI

Most of the positive reviews have under 1 hour of gameplay

It is not a bargain, it screams of shovelware and review spamming

Megajump looks like a final year project….a bad one.

    joke post, please don't

Does anybody ever worry that these random freebies from unknown creators would be one of the easiest methods for getting spyware and malware onto people's PCs? Getting people to willingly install the asset flip junkware while thinking they're getting a deal.

Posted from iPhone via Chrome browser

    • i’d like to think that steam do a few checks and
balances to make sure it’s not listing malware

Given all the updates a developer could push, and the huge floodgate opened a few years back to let indie developers publish without the whole previous voting queue or steam approval system, I don't know if one should really be fully confident.

        • everything is downloaded from Steam servers, and given the sheer volume of users, I’ve never seen or heard of any malware that came from Steam. I’ve been using Steam for 15+ years and never had an issue. I mean it’s the internet, nothing is 100% safe, but it’s extreeeeeemely unlikely to be Steam as the original source of the virus

Even if you did want to spread malware/viruses via Steam, how do you think you’d go about it? You need to entice the most people possible - so most people will get it doing something dumb like downloading a cracked version of Elden Ring or something. Doing it via steam makes zero sense

@b0rnwithabeard: It's only more recently that Steam has allowed submitting things without some convoluted community voting gate to get it listed, or manual review. I don't think it's super likely, but it is a bit questionable just installing random stuff just because it's on Steam, when it might be no different than installing stuff from anywhere else on the net (when it's these small and random unknown developers)

    I don't get this post

how are there reviews for the game? I thought steam would have a disclaimer if the reviewer refunded the game

    • +1

4 days prior to making the game free they increased the price as a joke.

Normal price was $7.50 and has been as low as $1.35 during sales.

    Wu-Tang Clan made a game?

  • it's not the posts fault. the game is a joke in the first place

  • is there any sales data that shows that someone actually bought this at half a mil?
