TLDR: Saving pennies by ordering direct from Amazon.com might not be worth it anymore if you expect to receive the item quickly.
I ordered something in stock and "Fulfilled by Amazon" (ships from Amazon US warehouse) on the 31st of January.
It's 6 days later and the tracking is still stuck on "Processing" just before "Shipped" it's been like that for days now.
I thought oh maybe they are delaying it expecting me to cancel or something, so I go to "cancel" and a warning pops up "It's about to ship! You can request a cancel but it's not guaranteed!".
So how long is it going to be in this limbo of "about to ship! But not yet!" and "You probably can't cancel sorry!".
Just wondering if anyone else is in this similar situation recently. Is everyone else waiting 6+ days for Amazon.com to ship from it's own warehouse?
I thought most of the warehouses were 99% automated in the US and they even have their own 747 size jet planes apparently to move stock in country and overseas.
I didn't expect to wait a week for it to progress and the estimate has always said (from the date next to "add to cart") it should arrive 3 days from now.
I rarely order from Amazon.com directly, and in the past if I ordered Amazon US via Amazon AU things arrived pretty quick.
- Rant I know, but if things were going to be this delayed I and others probably would have considered paying a bit more to get the item quicker from somewhere else.
On the flipside I ordered something from a UK store recently (not Amazon), and the item arrived in 2 days from ordering date (much quicker than expected but still it lets you know what's possible).
My order placed on 30 December wasn't despatched from the Amazon US warehouse until 11 January. It arrived on 17 January though so I guess I couldn't really complain.
