Does it need to be 3M? There are some awesome products out there not made by 3M.

    • Any good option for heat please?

      • I've had last 4 family vehicles done in solargard.

Visit their website to locate an installer near you.

Give them a call. Ask for a quote.

        • What makes solargard so special @Muzeeb?

          • @Lord Ra: I don't know if it's more special than other tints but I've had great success [Borat accent]. One car was done 7 years ago and still looks like it was installed last week.

            • @MS Paint: Ah, rightoh, your measure of success (MOS) is if it lasts for awhile.
My MOS is how well it prevents my arms and legs from burning. I find that F1 tint from tintacar does a great job at keeping the UV out, but it's also very light, so easy to drive at night. 😀

I think I wrangled it down to 450 on my Mazda 3, no NRMA discount from Tint A Car, about 4 years ago.

Universal tint five dock does 3M. Think it was $900 for crystalline and $350 for carbon a few years ago. If that's sounds reasonable maybe give them a ring for a quote.

    • We can't afford that much. Thanks for sharing.

My 3m tint failed after 7 years - rear window of a sedan.
That lifetime warranty sure is written on a card…

So the guy I ended up paying to replace it from tint-a-car mentioned they often have to replace the 3M because it's a bit thinner than other brands on the market and the sun breaks it easier if you park in the sun all the time.

Wether that's true or a sales pitch I'm not sure though, but the replacement tint (formula 1) is excellent so far.

  • Thanks for sharing. I don't want 3M anymore.

    • Aww what you getting and how much gonna be?

  • Bob the tinter

  • If you have NRMA membership, you can receive 20% off the RRP of selected automotive window tinting from Tint.a.Car
