The website lists the front camera sensor as a Sony IMX335. All the sites that Google spit out for this show it as a 5mp sensor, with a resolution of 2592 x 1944.

How are you getting 4K out of that?

      Oh that's probably because it's a lie.

      • +1

Clearly it has an NVIDIA 4090 with DLSS inbuilt for up-scaling.

Nohhh. Never! Random Chinese company X would never lie to us…

    • Simple multiplication? 5038848?

Hi there, the developers said the pixels of dashcam was increased to 4K through built-in softwares and their algorithm, which also optimize the quality of the image to make it clearer.

      • +1

Well … yes. But the processor inside this device simply doesn't have the grunt to upscale - in real time - and also make the image clearer.

In short … it's marketing BS.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news …

      • So fake 4k…..Avoid.

      • "the devs said"

Oh, trust me bro, it's defs 4k. no, you may not look inside at the actual components.

Lol found an interesting OzBargain website bug

the deals feed censors a portion of the title text for a split-second as "email protected" before it displays the full text

    3840x2160P@30fbs

    Shows as

    [email protected]

  • Is this the seller's yearly "deal" preorder crowdfunding

  • Would anyone have recommendations for an alternative dash camera that would be true 4k. cheers

Just a hot tip - watch footage samples of these cameras. The specs themselves do not seem to matter all that much, I have seen some shockingly bad "4k" dash cams.. Most of these cameras will have video samples on youtube.

My current go to is the Viofo A129, the numberplates show up really well on camera from a pretty good distance - one of the most important things in my opinion, and also one of the biggest downfalls of some of these highly specced cameras. Basically do your research, you may find that 4k doesn't mean much at all.

    • DCOA on YT is a good place to do some research and be entertained at the same time. Plenty of real life driving situations, variable lighting conditions, and a mix of different gear (camera types are often watermarked at the bottom of the footage)

      • One of my fave shows at the moment… profanity galore

      • Watch that channel if you never want to go out on the roads again!

  • Dishonest marketing, cannot trust seller.
