    Damn that's cheap. But only 4800 :(

    • What’s ideal for DDR5?

      • Depends on platform, i think AMD 7000 series is 6000

  • That seem cheap? Are DDR5/DDR4 prices on the decline? I'm still using DDR4 and looking to upgrade to 32GB from 16GB (AMD 5600X with B550)

Its 'slow' and has high latency.

      • Are there any real world testing that demonstrate the perfomance between different DDR5 speeds? Only found mainly DDR4 vs DDR5 comparisons.

You can find the comparision on many website like Tom's hardware, AnandTech, TechPower,…

          Here is one

          https://www.techpowerup.com/review/ddr5-memory-performance-s…

          • @O O: Thanks for that, very comprehensive review. So not an extreme performance hit between higher speeds and lower latencies, ranging from 3.8% at 1080p to 0.5% at 4K in gaming. Only wished they included an AMD test setup to measure AMD tolerances to different DDR5 configurations.

            • @Phlume: Someone else posted the AMD testing below, keep in mind that some games for example are very sensitive to memory, for example COD titles have always been a prime example where tightening up RAM timings can have a 10-15% impact on performance. If you're using something like the 5800X3D though, you won't get a huge amount of gain as with it's additional massive Cache it already does extremely well. Just to really muddy the waters a bit more :P

    • Yes, RAM is on the decline in price. An article from a couple of days ago talked about an over supply of memory chips

  • this is equivalent to slow DDR4 due to high latency

  • Cheap - but sort of pointless. I'd be looking at 5600mhz at a minimum.

On a side note, If anyone spots any decent deals on 6000mhz 2x32gb with (expo) please let me know!

  • so used to looking at DDR4 CL timings that i thought at CL40 who would want to buy something x times slower.

I have 4800 speed and honestly it runs fine. I'll upgrade later when prices drop further but these are good placeholders.

    • Lol Disposables

    • Kinda the same plan here. Running it with 13600k and its awesome as it is.

Very nice, I got the 13600k as well. Honestly even when I get better ram later on, I don't think I'll notice a difference.

        • I think so too.

  • Wow that's super cheap

    • It is, I got 8gb sticks for 49 and that was considered relatively cheap for ddr5 4800.
